O'Rourke Electric Company has been running out of Malden for 36 years, according to its BBB file — one of the longer-tenured operations of its kind. Thomas L. O'Rourke runs it as company president, and BBB carries the business at an A+ even though it has never sought formal accreditation. Its BBB listing describes complete electrical servicing across residential homes, commercial offices and retail stores, and industrial and factory warehouses — a broad mix rather than a single specialty. There isn't a customer review history on file yet to say what recent jobs looked like or how the crew handled them, so it's worth asking for references directly and confirming current licensing and insurance before booking.
Typical Greater Boston range for this kind of work, from regional averages — not a quote from O Rourke Electrical. Use it to sanity-check bids, then get the real number in writing.
Standard receptacle swaps — a new dedicated circuit is a bigger job ($350–$750).
Flush mounts, pendants, chandeliers — hung on existing boxes.
Estimated range
$530 – $1,100
Typical electrical project around $820
