Old World Construction

Old World Construction presents itself as a family-owned Marlborough construction company serving MetroWest Boston, with residential and commercial building, remodeling, roofing, restorations, and general repairs. Its website says the company spans four generations and has more than 125 years of combined industry experience across its team. The Massachusetts registry lists home-improvement contractor license HIC 136511 as active, with Murdock MacKenzie as the holder of record. The clearest customer signal is a May 2020 WorcesterMA recommendation saying Old World Construction does amazing work and is worth the cost, while also cautioning that the company is not the least expensive option. Google shows a five-star rating from one rating, and BuildZoom lists eight permitted projects from 2005 through 2018, including bathroom remodels, siding replacements, decks, and a rear addition. Those permits offer useful history across several kinds of residential work, while the dated recommendation is the only detailed customer mention here. Before booking, ask for a written scope and price because the available customer comment specifically flags higher pricing. The website lists general contracting, remodeling, roofing, restorations, and repairs, while BBB lists commercial and residential general contracting, building houses, tenant fit-ups, additions, and remodeling. The registry confirms HIC 136511 is active under Murdock MacKenzie; confirm that the contract identifies the responsible license holder and covers the work you are hiring. Old World Construction looks best suited to homeowners seeking a general contractor for remodeling, additions, restoration, or related building work who are comfortable evaluating a detailed proposal. Ask about the exact scope, schedule, materials, and total price before authorizing the job.
