Olympia Stone & Tile runs a stone and tile shop at 60 Charles Street in Needham, the kind of place homeowners get sent to by their own contractor when they need a countertop, a backsplash, or a tricky custom stone job done right. The company says it has been at this for more than 40 years, first as Olympia Marble & Granite and now under new leadership from José Martins and Erivelton Baumgratz, who each came from their own stone and tile shops before joining forces here. What comes through across 29 Google reviews running from 2022 to 2026 is how often the same two names come up: Sophie Sullivan and Bridget. Customers describe Sophie walking them through material selection and coordinating installation on new-construction jobs, and Bridget matching a sample tile on sight and sourcing it without days of searching. One reviewer's installers solved a non-level backsplash on the spot; another's integral sink and limestone floor were installed, in their words, with 'precision and perfection.' A referral from Borghesani Construction and a customer who says they've used the shop for over 25 years point to a business that gets called back for real project work, not one-off sales. The record isn't spotless. A March 2026 review praised the showroom's remnant and slab selection but described pieces not being ready on a scheduled pickup day, with delays stretching on during fabrication. And in a 2022 review, a customer described paying in full upfront, having their measurements lost, and going through repeated rescheduling before the job was finally sorted out — a rougher account than anything else on file, though nothing since has repeated that specific pattern. Worth asking about lead times and payment terms before signing anything, especially on a larger fabrication job. Its Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration is active, registered to Olympia Stone & Tile LLC. Beyond kitchens and baths, the shop has also fabricated custom pieces like a marble dining table, and one interior-design project write-up credits their brickwall tile work. This is a good call for a countertop, tile floor, or custom stone piece where you want someone who can match an odd sample or solve an installation snag on-site — just confirm the pickup timeline and payment schedule up front.
“Brickwall Tile: Olympia Stone & Tile”
I've had two wonderful experiences with Olympia Tile & Stone! We absolutely love our countertops, and the entire team was professional, responsive, and easy to work with throughout the process. They made everything seamless (no pun intended!) from start to finish, and we couldn’t be happier with the final result. Highly recommend!
Really happy with new counter tops. From planning to install - overall great experience
We are building a new house and working with Sophie from Olympia has been wonderful. From the selection process to the installation of the counters, Olympia has been honest, reliable and so easy to work with. Sophie was patient and responsive and helped us throughout the entire process. The installers were very knowledgable and came up with a great solution for our non level backsplash. I would highly recommend Olympia and will use them for future projects.
Working with Olympia Stone and Tile was exceptional. Recommended by Borghesani Construction, they installed an integral sink and limestone tile floor with precision and perfection. Sophie Sullivan was especially helpful at every phase of the project identifying and following up the quartz stone and tile, coordinating the installation and following up when it was completed. Without question I would recommend them.
Excellent job done by them!
