Very disappointed in the lack of professionalism. I have been reaching out to Thiago for 2 weeks and he is avoiding me. I would not recommend hiring this company for your renovations unless you are knowledgeable about the build and are able to supervise them to make sure that they’re not cutting any corners or doing things improperly. Had Thiago and his team build a tile shower for our upstairs master bedroom in March 2024. The shower looked nice and for the most part I was happy with their work. I had to have Thiago come out again to re-grout some parts that were not grouted properly and we could see through the gaps into the wall behind. We also had to call him again a month or so after the shower was done because there was a leak and it turns out that the valve was not installed properly and he was able to fix that. They had also switched the pipes during the build so the hot water direction is actually cold water and vice versa. These were minor inconveniences so we didn’t think too much about. A year later in July 2026, we noticed a massive leak that was dripping through various spots on the ceiling below the shower. Thiago wasn’t available to come until the following week so we reached out to another contractor we had worked with in the past who noted there was no issues with the pipes so it must be the shower floor itself that was leaking. At this point I had the other Contractor demo part of the shower floor to see where the leak was and how it could be repaired because Thiago wasn’t available to come as quickly as I needed, and I did not trust them to fix their own mistake. The demo of the part of the shower floor let us to find that it was not waterproofed properly, and the cement board underneath had got soggy from buildup of the leak and mold was growing. The water was able to leak past the tiles and because there were gaps and air pockets in the mortar used to attach the tiles, the water was able to drip down and pool on the cement boards. We found that the tiles and stone were not put on properly. Shower tiles are required to have 95% coverage with the thin set mortar (according to the Tile Council of North America and ANSI) that’s used to put the tiles up. There were parts of our shower where it was done sloppily and there were a lot of air pockets, especially under our bench where most of the leak was from. The bench was done very poorly and blobs of the mortar were placed and the Stone bench placed on top, leaving a lot of gaps for the water to seep into and get to the cement board. I discussed all of this with Thiago and my frustration with how now I had to redo my entire shower and while I understand his frustration at having another Contractor tearing up their work, he did admit that from the pictures I showed him some parts of the shower were done incorrectly and he apologized. He then told me to give him some time to think about it and he would call me back later .I appreciated him taking responsibility, but it has since been two weeks where he will not pick up my phone or respond to my messages. I am utterly disappointed in the lack of professionalism in ignoring me. I am having to spend thousands of dollars in new materials, labor, and all the old materials that are now wasted. I would not recommend hiring this company for your renovations unless you are knowledgeable about the build and are able to supervise them to make sure that they’re not cutting any corners or doing things improperly.
