OnCall Handyman is a Malden operation run by Steve (Stephen Shirley), who says on Thumbtack he's been doing this for about two years and takes on the kind of small, mixed-trade repairs a homeowner doesn't always know who to call for. The one dated account on file, from September 2024, is a detailed one: a customer describes Steve stripping and redoing the caulking around a kitchen sink and every bathroom fixture, installing a new faucet, and getting three toilets in despite a supply-house delay that wasn't his doing, all while still hitting the promised deadline. He's passed Thumbtack's background check, and the profile carries 39 project photos. Beyond that review and a scatter of thin, boilerplate directory listings elsewhere online, there isn't yet a deeper written track record to point to — worth asking directly for a couple of recent references before booking. He's a reasonable call for smaller fixture and repair jobs around the Malden area, especially caulking, faucet, or toilet work like what's described above; confirm current availability and pricing when you reach out.
Steve is amazing! Super professional, easy to talk to and knows his field. Great communication! He removed and redid our caulking in our kitchen sink (+installed new faucet), and redid caulking in all our bathroom sinks, shower and tub. They look new! Husband wanted 3 new toilets, Home Depot gave Steve a difficult time (not Steve's fault at all for the delay), he handled it really professionally, still met my end of the week deadline. I also had a lot of little fixes here and there in this new purchase home, I just needed some help to guide me which direction to fix them on my own...Steve not only gave pointers, his experience in what he sees, but he also fixed one of my drawers no questions asked just because he had the 2 screws we needed available (no additional cost to me). Steve is just starting his business, but will be doing big things moving forward. Will definitely keep him handy while I am in the area! Highly Recommend!
