Hand Oteri Construction a kitchen neglected for thirty years, a fixed budget and almost no lead time, and — by one August 2026 customer's account — you don't get a list of reasons why not. They did it. The only thing off the table, that customer joked, was the solid gold fixtures. The company works out of 801 Waverly Street in Framingham and describes itself as a general contractor doing high-end kitchen and bath remodeling, custom cabinetry, additions and new home construction, listing Cambridge, Somerville, Watertown, Wellesley, Sherborn and Southborough among the towns it serves. Edward Oteri is president and Nicolas Oteri director of operations, per the company; customers writing this summer name Ed, Jen and Fernando. Finish work is where the detail lands. A July 2026 homeowner described a master bath rebuilt with a custom walk-in shower, built-in cabinetry and Italian tile; another, days earlier, a curbless shower sitting flush to the floor. An August 2026 kitchen arrived with custom white cabinetry, a paneled refrigerator that blends in, brass hardware and a built-in beverage bar. That same month a homeowner wrote about a large ipe deck set with an invisible fastener system, no nails or screws showing. The jobs also get big. Reviewers this summer described a total gut renovation of a mid-century condo in a city high rise, an addition carrying a kitchen, mud room, second-floor laundry, guest bedroom and deck, and a condo in Chestnut Hill gutted and rebuilt for a reviewer's parents. Several of the recent reviewers are interior designers who brought Oteri in on their own clients' work. On the practical side: a July 2026 customer wrote that the project stayed on time and very close to budget, and a 2025 reviewer who has hired them since 2011 said Ed shows up when he says he will and comes back with an estimate and a start date. Reviews run from 2017 to now — 5 stars across 37 Google ratings, 4.9 across 10 on Houzz. Houzz lists a home contractor licence, #136032, and a 2014 Newton Preservation Award for historic renovation and condo conversion; the company itself claims a NARI Remodeler of the Year award. Check that licence number against the Massachusetts register yourself. If your job is a kitchen, a bath or an addition where the cabinetry and tile have to be right, this is a fit. One 2025 reviewer said a set of custom built-ins took some time, so pin the schedule down in writing, and ask for the registration and insurance before anyone starts.
