Mark M. is the one customers write in about — in an August 2025 review, a homeowner called him the only person in twenty years who managed to fix their oversized garage door. Overhead Door Company of Danvers works out of Middleton, selling, installing and servicing residential and commercial overhead doors, openers, rolling service doors and gate operators; the site says the business has run since 1968 under the Hardin family, with Bill Carr taking over in 2020. What people describe is mostly the diagnostic end of the trade rather than new doors. A homeowner who expected to be told they needed a new motor wrote in an October 2023 review that the technician fixed the eye of the door instead. An April 2024 review credits Justin with chasing an intermittent keypad-and-clicker fault on 15-year-old openers and spotting that the owner had put LED bulbs in. In a May 2025 review, a customer found a mouse inside the opener motor; the technician unplugged it, cleaned things up and worked out a plan for a replacement. The office gets its share of the credit. A September 2025 customer whose mother's opener died the day before she moved out of town wrote that the first appointment was several days off until a salesperson arranged a technician that same day. A June 2025 reviewer named Elaine, Kim and Andrea on the phone alongside Mark on site. The newest review, from August 2026, is about price: the customer shopped around for doors and hardware and found this the cheapest for the product they wanted. One review dissents sharply. A February 2025 one-star writer describes work done many years earlier that dragged on for about a year and a half, and says the review they left at the time is no longer on the page. The company's own history is also told two ways: the website dates it to 1968 under the Hardin family, while the BBB profile lists the business as started and incorporated in 2014 under the alternate name Overhead Door Specialties, Inc. The BBB has it accredited since 2020 with an A+ grade, three employees and Bill Carr as president, and the site lists Contractor License 197405. For an opener that has quit or a door nobody else has sorted out, this is a sensible call — the repair stories are the strongest thing here, and the company says its Overhead Door dealership brings factory training and parts access. Ask what a service call costs, and get any full door replacement quoted in writing.
