Rob Egan's crews run their remodels through a scheduling app the homeowner can log into. Customers writing between 2024 and 2026 describe opening Buildertrend to see the calendar of what was happening at their house that week, and one couple remodelling a condo kitchen and laundry in January 2026 — first-time owners nervous about a big project straight after moving in — said Rob and Brian worked through every question before anything started. Pathway Development is based in Melrose with a second address in Braintree, taking on kitchens, bathrooms, decks and whole-house work across Boston and the South Shore, plus frame-to-finish new construction. The larger jobs come through in what customers write: a four-story townhome in Marina Bay, Quincy remodelled top to bottom in a 2022 account, a dated sunroom porch with leaking windows turned into usable family space in a December 2025 review, a 2024 kitchen that came out matching the design render at a price the customer called transparent, and a January 2025 deck taken from demolition of the old one through new footings to the finished build. A 2024 reviewer had Pathway complete a project for the Weymouth Peer Recovery Support Center. One review, posted in July 2026, is the reason to proceed carefully. The customer writes that Rob abandoned a $250,000 job at their home and, in their words, "stole 6 figures" out of the budget, leaving a bathroom that cannot be used, a broken tub and a shower floor leaking into the room below; the review carries a photograph of it. That is one homeowner's account. Raise it with Rob directly, and ask how payments are staged against work you can walk through and inspect. The licence is worth settling yourself. The company's Houzz profile publishes construction supervisor licence CS-113033, which is Pathway's own listing rather than a check against the state registry, so look that number up and confirm the Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration before any money moves. Note too that the four Houzz reviews all went up in mid-to-late 2023; the more recent accounts are on Google, where the profile shows 4.8 stars from 22 ratings. For a kitchen, a bathroom or a deck where you want to see the schedule day by day, Pathway's customers describe getting exactly that. Given the July 2026 account, tie the payment schedule to milestones you can inspect, keep a meaningful final payment back until the punch list is closed, and ask for two references from jobs finished in the past year.
I am shocked and appalled to learn that Rob is still licensed and conducting business. An image here is of my home, a bathroom that is unusable, tub that is broken, shower floor that leaks into the room below. He abandoned the job at our home and stole 6 figures out of a $250k budget. We were left with no kitchen, a leaking roof and dozens of other problems (many still unresolved years later). He altered the formative years of the children living within the chaos he created and changed the direction of our lives. Every nightmare you've ever heard of in terms of "bad contractors" came true, the list is too long to write here but feel free to DM me. Run do not walk away. I would not wish this experience on my worst enemy and cannot possibly stress enough how this person CANNOT be trusted.
Excellent work, was extremely satisfied with the work Rob and his team did at my house. Rob was in constant contact with updates on the progress especially if something unexpected came up during the process. I highly recommend using them for your home/business projects. I'll be using them again for future projects
We hired Pathway to remodel our condo kitchen and laundry room and they did an excellent job. As first time homeowners who just moved in, we were nervous about immediately taking on a big expensive project but Rob and Brian did a great job fielding all of our questions and concerns. To make matters more complicated, the structural work required cooperation from a surly neighbor who lived downstairs at the time. For that to work they needed to adhere to the schedule on the calendar and communicate any delays or changes as soon as they knew about them. The workers and subcontractors came when they were supposed to and they took great care to clean up at the end of the day and protect the rest of the house from the construction. Everyone on the team was attentive and professional. They finished on time and on budget. One year in and we haven't had any problems and continue to receive many compliments on our kitchen. We'd gladly work with them again.
Rob and his team at Pathway Development were fantastic to work with and clearly an organized team. They are extremely responsive and communicative. Their pricing is very reasonable. I love the Buildertrend app that they used, which shows a calendar of all their scheduled activities, messages portal, daily project reports with photos, quick change orders/add-ons to the original contract, etc. Rob and Brian were always quick and patient with their explanations (as I was someone with no prior renovation experience), accommodated numerous add-ons as things came up, and brought so many of my ideas into reality. These included a bathroom gut renovation with custom vanity and huge accessible walk-in shower, installation of a new kitchen island range hood and induction stovetop, and replacement of all carpets with new matching hardwood floors (among many other things). We are so happy with the result, and everyone who has visited post-renovation has been very impressed with their work. I would not hesitate to work with Pathway again and highly recommend them to anyone!
Rob and his team were very clear throughout the duration of our remodeling project. They had techs onsite each day and were very detail oriented. They were responsive to our requests and completed everything in a timely fashion. I recommend them for any project you may have.
