Peter's Hardwood Flooring is a family-owned Weymouth, Massachusetts flooring company, self-reported with 20-plus years in business, offering hardwood installation, refinishing, sanding, staining, stair restoration, dustless sanding, and tile and luxury vinyl plank across the South Shore and Greater Boston. The company's site says owner Peter is on every job, and it holds an A+ Better Business Bureau rating. The written record runs deep, with 68 reviews from 2015 through 2026 across Google, Angi, HomeAdvisor, and Houzz. Across a long stretch of years, reviewers consistently praise the craftsmanship and finish quality of hardwood refinishing and new installs, including work on 40-to-100-year-old floors, stair replacements, and color/stain matching. Multiple reviewers describe trusting Peter's crew with access to their home while away, being flexible around other contractors' schedules, and hiring him again for follow-up rooms or projects. Recent activity in the last six months has been entirely positive. Two accounts from 2022 are worth asking about: one review describes a herringbone-pattern floor installed with visible gaps and filler pieces where the pattern went off-line, and separate 2022 reviews describe a floor-damage repair dispute in which the reviewer says insurance information wasn't provided and follow-up communication stopped. For hardwood refinishing or installation in the South Shore / Greater Boston area, the long, detailed track record here is a strong signal — for a more complex pattern job like herringbone, it's worth asking about specific past examples given the one account above.
Peter was able to work around our schedule and other construction projects. He was timely & professional. I highly recommend! See photos for an after and before! Peter also advised us on how to maintain/clean the floors after his work was completed so that they remain in pristine condition. Thank you so much, Peter!
Peter and his crew did an outstanding job on the old floors in our home. They were kind, efficient, and on time. Thank you Peter!
Great experience. Good communication throughout. Very reliable. Totally trusted them to do the job while we were out of the country. Floors look great. Really nice crew too. We are hiring them to do the floors on the second floor since they did such a good job.
Peter and his staff got the job done the best way--no nonsense, no mess left behind, just beautifully refinished floors.
Peter and his team took meticulous detail and patience in installing my new hardwood floors. The job was not easy, removing multiple layers of old flooring, ensuring a level and stable subfloor for the new floor, and selecting the best stain to align with other adjacent rooms in my home. I highly recommend to call Peter for any of your flooring needs.
