That May, a Google reviewer described a herringbone floor laid so badly that $14,000 of wood and $2,000 of glue had to come out, gaps packed with filler where the pattern drifted, and a bag of sawdust left on site that spontaneously combusted and brought the fire department. The same customer said he would not hand over his insurance information and stopped returning calls; a review posted on Angi that same month made both complaints again. In August, a third homeowner described hiring him to blend a small patch into an existing finish, watching it come back as three mismatched bands of color, and an argument on the doorstep when they raised it. None of that is recent. The last six months are six reviews, none of them negative, and the four years since have been clean. But those three accounts point the same direction: the trouble came on jobs harder than a straight sand-and-coat, and the follow-through went with it. So - a sound call for the standard job, which is what nearly all the praise describes: full-room refinishing, a stain change, new solid or engineered plank across a whole floor. If your job is a patch that has to blend into an existing finish, or a pattern layout like herringbone, pin the scope and the remedy down in writing first, and ask for the certificate of insurance up front rather than after.
