PJZ Inc. is a Wenham, MA outfit run by Peter Zanni that Porch's own profile describes as 40 years in the trade, doing custom homes, additions, framing, masonry, carpentry, and kitchen and bath remodeling — explicitly not the kind of company for handyman-scale jobs. The written reviews on file, all from 2012 through early 2014, describe careful, detail-oriented work. In a 2013 review, a customer described Peter working directly with them to source custom, non-standard doors, staying in touch by email the whole way through. Another 2013 review described PJZ replacing old carpeting with new wood floors and adding detailed trim work around a brick fireplace for a repeat customer. A third 2013 review said the final price matched the original estimate exactly, with no surprise costs, and called the finished work quality and clean. Earlier, in a 2012 review, a customer said Peter was referred by another contractor who couldn't take the job, then gave a same-night estimate that beat the competing quotes they'd received. Worth knowing: every written review on file dates to 2012 through 2014 — well over a decade old now — so while the historical account is detailed and entirely positive, there's nothing recent to confirm how the company is operating today. Angi's own tally, 5.0 stars from 9 reviews, covers the same 2012-2016 window. For a larger construction project — an addition, custom carpentry, or a kitchen or bath remodel — the older account describes careful, communicative work and estimates that held; just confirm current availability and get a fresh reference given how much time has passed.

Fabulous experience. 12 stars out of 10.
PJZ was polite, on time, provided an answer to all questions promptly. Final price was the same as the estimate, no surprise added costs. Work was quality and clean. We are very pleased with his work and would recommend him to anyone.
Peter and his crew did a great job on our doors. Firstly, Peter worked directly with me in selecting our doors and accommodating one that was non-standard requiring a custom order. Peter was always in touch via email which was great for me as my main form of contact. Peter made time on my schedule, arriving on off hours and days to take measurements and discuss. Ultimately the quality of his work stands out above all the other great points. I left for work at 8AM and he and his crew were already hard at work. I came home to a completed project and a spotless work area. Everything was done just right. I am sure I will be using Peter again on future projects!
We are repeat customers of PJZ, and continue to be extremely impressed with his skill, professionalism, and reliability. PJZ replaced our old carpeting with new wood floors. He paid close attention to detail, with beautiful trim work around the brick fireplace. He also made the new wood floor connect seamlessly with the 100-year old wood floor in our dining room. Finally, he installed bifold doors in front of our washer and dryer. After visiting our home to provide an estimate and take measurements, Pete came back several weeks later once the materials were ready. He arrived promptly at 8 am on the scheduled work day, and was done by 4pm. He cleaned up the debris and demo spotlessly, and we could hardly tell he was there. The room looks beautiful, and we consider ourselves lucky to have found Pete. We recommend him highly, and are already talking with him about another job this summer.
It went very well actually. We did have a delay caused by the cabinet manufacturer and a delay due to the city losing a permit request. We found Peter to be honest, reasonable and trustworthy. He's not a charmer. He works rather than gabs but we were ok with that. He did come back to adjust a 15" bank of draws that had dropped (became unlevel) on the shims in order to have the 1"x3" mosaic backsplash installed on the level. I guess the true gauge of how good someone is is how quickly they respond when there is a problem and their demeanor. He responded right away and was great about doing it. He also came back at a later date to install the microhood. Ours arrived damaged and we weren't sure we could exchange. he offered to try and bang it out and install it rather than have us take a loss. In the end, the manufacturer replaced it but Peter had to make a trip back a week later to install. We found him to be very reasonable.
