Pleasantwood Homes is the Cape Cod building outfit of Dan and Joyce Marsters, a husband-and-wife team who design and build custom houses and keep the interior design in-house. They work out of Forestdale and say they serve Mashpee and Sandwich, with 25 years behind them by their own count. A fair amount of their work runs through town hall. In February 2022 the Sandwich Board of Appeals took up a special-permit application from the company for a property on Norse Pines Drive in East Sandwich, and that December the Cape News reported it seeking to add three building lots to the Spring Hill West subdivision. BuildZoom's permit-derived page lists one project, built from three 2011 permits for a new single-family home in Cotuit. Licensing is the thing to sort out before you sign. The state registry shows the Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration in Dan Marsters's name, #166477, as expired, and BuildZoom separately lists a Construction Supervisor 1 & 2 Family licence, #CSFA-062820, for him. Ask which registrations are current today and get the numbers in writing. If you are building new on the mid-Cape — especially on a lot that needs a zoning hearing or a subdivision approval along the way — this is a small, owner-run builder who has been through that process. Check the licence status with the state yourself, ask to see a few finished houses, and have the interior-design scope written into the contract.
