Sixty-one years on Boston Post Road, and what customers keep doing in their reviews is naming names — Dawn and Paul on the sales floor, Natasha in the office, installers called Chris, Cory and Ruiter. For a carpet showroom, that is a lot of first-name recognition. Post Road Carpet sells and installs carpet, remnants, custom bound area rugs and luxury vinyl out of a Marlborough showroom, and describes itself as family owned and operated, "celebrating 60 years of service." Its BBB page dates the corporation to 1965, lists five employees and names Ms. Natasha Peltak as president; the grade there is A+, though the business has not sought BBB accreditation. Stairs are the recurring job. A May 2026 customer, back for a second carpet purchase, says the measuring visit for their stairs came within a day. A December 2024 review named installer Ruiter for a polite, professional job on stair runners, and a November 2023 customer — on their second installation with the shop — said the runner crew cleaned up after themselves. Luxury vinyl is the other steady thread: a September 2025 homeowner named installers Chris and Corey for an LVP job, and in April 2025 another customer had LVT laid in their bathrooms by the same pair. The showroom itself does much of the work. In a 2023 review, new homeowners sent over by their realtor said Dawn steered them to a bedroom carpet that "isn't too modern and isn't too traditional" and beat every other quote they had. Across 51 Google ratings the average sits at 4.6, and all three reviews from the past six months are positive, one of them crediting Natasha with running the job start to finish. One account cuts against all that. In July 2023 a customer wrote that the company does not honor its warranty on its rugs or its installation work, describing wall-to-wall carpet in a house they moved into in January 2019 that began buckling within months, and faulting the current owner's customer service. It is a single complaint and it is three years old, but it lands on the part of a flooring job that only surfaces long after the install. The right call if you want to handle samples in person, have a stair runner or a room of luxury vinyl installed by a crew customers recognize by name, and buy from a shop that has been on that road since 1965. Before you sign, ask what the labor warranty covers and how long it runs — and get the answer in writing.
