PowerHorse Plumbing is a young Methuen plumbing-and-heating shop run by owner Justin Pen, and its most recent reviews land right in stride: crews stopped a pipe break the same morning it was called in, with the owner and one of his top plumbers on site and finished within about an hour, and another homeowner had faucet, shower, toilet and laundry-line issues estimated within 24 hours and fixed within the week. A third recent review, from a landlord managing an investment property, called the job "flawless" and stress-free. Its Massachusetts plumber license is active, and its BBB page carries an A+ grade (not BBB-accredited). The pattern goes back further. In a 2025 review, a commercial customer said PowerHorse ran all new piping for their property and that they'd be back for future projects; in a separate 2025 review, a property manager at MSPCA's Nevins Farm described hiring Justin for several jobs, including a same-day emergency call. Tankless water heaters come up more than once — two 2025 reviews describe Justin servicing and descaling a Navien unit — and a 2025 review described a garbage disposal fixed and a washer and dryer installed in the same visit. One 2025 review also mentions an AC restored in a day, and the company's own site lists heating alongside plumbing and southern-New-Hampshire coverage, so it's worth confirming HVAC and out-of-state service directly with them. A few things are worth knowing going in. The LLC was incorporated in September 2023 — BBB lists it at two years in business, Thumbtack at three — and its own website says it was "established in 2024" while also saying Justin brings over 10 years of prior experience, so the company itself is new even if the owner isn't. BuildZoom, a separate directory rather than a registry check, shows an unverified plumbing-business license, a score of 93 placing it above 73% of Massachusetts contractors, and three permitted plumbing and gas projects from 2025 ranging $650 to $25,000. For a leak, a water heater, or a small-to-midsize plumbing job around Methuen, PowerHorse has a short but consistently strong record. Given how new the business itself is, it's still worth asking for references on anything larger before committing.
