Climate Design Systems is the Methuen outfit people call when the system has already failed — and the reviews that carry the most weight are the ones where somebody showed up the same week. A homeowner who had spent a summer coming home to 75 degrees with three mini-splits running called and had a technician at the house within two days. When a water heater turned into a bigger job than quoted, the company put extra crew on it rather than push the finish date. Its Massachusetts sheet metal licence, 933-SM-B, is active on the state registry. The company's own site lists a further fourteen trade licence numbers across Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Maine and Connecticut, along with plumbing, gas-fitting, refrigeration and oil registrations — those are the company's claims, not registry facts. It is a member of the Methuen Chamber of Commerce, and its Better Business Bureau file carries an A+ grade, though the page states plainly that the business is not BBB accredited. What comes through in the recent work is range plus a habit of laying out choices. A technician troubleshooting a dead central AC gave repair-and-replace options without steering, and a follow-up call the next day walked through them again. During a mini-split install, the crew noticed a sump pump that was not working properly and dealt with it. Long-standing customers describe boiler problems tracked over time and after-hours calls answered within the hour. Now the part to weigh carefully. This month a customer wrote that they paid $175 for a mini-split diagnostic, that the technician looked inside without testing anything, concluded mice had destroyed it, and presented only two options — $21,733 for an LG system or $28,447 for a Mitsubishi. The customer says a friend fitted a few parts and had the unit running in twenty minutes. Complaints about what things cost are the one theme that recurs across the years here, alongside an earlier account of an installation whose drain line was left unconnected. Against 103 Google ratings averaging 4.3 that is a minority view, but it is specific and it is current. There is also a straightforward discrepancy worth knowing about. The website advertises over 80 years in business — founded in 1946 as Haverhill Sheet Metal — with 150-plus employees and 75 service vehicles. The Better Business Bureau's own record for this LLC says nine years in business, incorporated in June 2017, with three employees. Both may be describing different things (a brand lineage versus this legal entity), but the gap is wide enough to ask about. So: capable on emergency heat and cooling, mini-split and heat pump installation, and the plumbing side too. Get any replacement quote in writing with the diagnostic findings attached, and price a second opinion before signing a five-figure system.

Saved the day! Our water heater unexpectedly went out, turning into a much bigger job than initially expected. Instead of delaying things, they immediately brought in extra crew members to make sure everything was completed on time. They were fast, professional, and kept us in the loop every step of the way. Having hot water back up and running quickly (despite the extra work) was a huge relief. Outstanding teamwork, fantastic communication, and top-tier service.

I’ve been coming home from work every day this summer to a hot house 75 degrees with 3 mini splits running! Finally, I called Jake at Climate Design Systems, and he sent his main man Paul(within 2 days!). Now this place is colder than a popsicle in Antarctica. Seriously, if you feel your house isn’t as cold or efficient as it should be now is the time to call Climate Design Systems. Fast, affordable, incredible service and the best customer service around!

Paid $175 for a tech to run a diagnostic on my mini split. He opened it looked inside and without testing anything he tells me that mice got to it and there is NO WAY to fix it and my ONLY options were to drop either $21,733.00 for the LG system or $28,447.00 for the Mitsubishi. My bf went out and got a few parts came back charged the unit. He had it running within 20 mins. I feel completely scammed bc he did not do an actual diagnostic and then tried to sell me a replacement system for an obscene amount of money. Copy of my $175 receipt and the quotes he gave me. UNREAL!
