687 Google ratings averaging 4.9 is a lot of homeowners agreeing about one thing: when the heat or the air conditioning quits, Caron shows up fast. One customer called at 11:30 in the morning and was repaired by 2:20 that afternoon. Another lost the AC on the season's first 95-degree day, called the next morning, and had Danny at the house by 11:30. The Methuen company works out of 510 Lowell St across the Merrimack Valley, and the jobs described run the full range of the trade — a furnace, heat pump and water heater replaced together on one project, a steam-heat boiler kept in service year after year, condensate drain tubes cleared on an air handler, a thermostat fault correctly identified so the heating system itself was left alone. Its Better Business Bureau file carries an A+ grade, accredited since December 2017. What reviewers document most consistently is process. Texts land before the visit, sometimes with the technician's photo. Individual names recur across dozens of separate reviews — Drew, Michael, Sam, Josh, Tony, Dave, Danny, Nate — which is the pattern of a stable crew rather than a rotating roster. Installers are credited for walking homeowners through how the new equipment runs, and for leaving the work area clean afterwards. One family got a veterans discount on an emergency heat restoration for a relative who had gone three weeks without it. On Reddit, a Massachusetts homeowner discussing furnace replacement costs mentioned using Caron to swap a propane furnace and central air for a whole-home heat pump — the kind of unprompted reference that tends to track with the review pattern here. One dissenting voice sits in the record. A customer with a leaking evaporator coil and no filter housing wrote that the first technician opened the sheet metal, said he could not fix it, and left without resolving anything, with a more experienced colleague to follow. It is a single complaint against a very deep run of satisfied ones, but it is the shape of job — an awkward retrofit rather than a straight replacement — worth asking about directly. So: for a heat pump or mini-split installation, a mid-winter no-heat call, or a maintenance plan you want honoured on schedule, this is a well-documented choice with a long track record behind it. If your job involves modifying existing ductwork or fabricating something that is not there yet, ask who specifically will be doing it and confirm the scope in writing before you sign.

Great experience with Caron Heating and Cooling. Top notch service and communication from beginning to end of as large project to install new furnace, heat pump, and water heater. From the quoting process to the scheduling, everything went perfectly. The job came out great. Crew (Johnathan was lead) was fantastic, meticulous, and kept us informed the whole way through. Went over everything in detail as far as how the different systems operated. Cleaned up the work area in a pristine way so you never knew such a large project just went on. Highly recommend this company for all your heating/coolong needs! 5 stars all the way around for sure.

Drew was very professional and quite thorough in cleaning debris out of the drain tubes leading to the HVAC condensate pump. He also was very courteous and well spoken. I would have given him an 11 out of 10 rating if it was possible.
