Preferred Services says it is centrally located in Manchester, Connecticut, offers 24-hour emergency service and accepts credit cards through technicians on site. A July 2023 Google reviewer, referring to the business as Preferred Appliances, described an appliance delivery and installation for their 86-year-old mother. They said installation had been promised as part of a delivery, installation and old-appliance removal package, but the work was left incomplete. According to the reviewer, the business charged $646, then a plumber and DF Richard billed another $650 to finish the installation. The reviewer said they had requested compensation and had not received a callback by the time they posted. Google lists a two-star rating from one review.
Although they are very nice, when I asked (3 times) whether they install appliances, I was reassured it was part of the package of delivery, install, and taking away old appliances. This was for my 86 year old mother. They brought the appliances and did such a terrible job installing, we had to get a plumber and DF Richard to come out and complete the installation. The appliance cost themselves were about $1100. Preferred Appliances charged us $646 (without completing the installation) and after the fact, we received two more bills to complete the job (from the plumber and DF Richard) totaling another $650. I called Preferred Appliance to discuss the issue and ask for some sort of compensation back and thus far, nobody has called me back. I don't usually give bad reviews but I think this is worth mentioning. Shame on them for taking advantage of a senior. AND she tipped them because that's just how she is. Needless to say I will never use them nor will I recommend them.
