Prestige Electrical Services Inc is a Methuen electrical contractor listed under owner Joseph R. Rubino, and the company describes itself in the first person — a one-man shop founded on "quality, reliable, expert services", offering emergency call-outs and promising to answer the phone morning, noon or night. The clearest picture of what they actually do comes from their permit trail: ten residential electrical permits filed between 2014 and 2022, covering service and panel upgrades, recessed lighting, removal of old knob-and-tube circuits, a 5.76 kW solar photovoltaic system, mini-split wiring and cat6 home networking. The jobs sit across Methuen, Melrose, Burlington, Waltham, Brookline, Danvers, Merrimac and Cambridge, which is a wide radius for a small electrical outfit and points to referral work rather than a single-town service round. The customer feedback is real but old. Angi carries four ratings averaging 5.0, and the written accounts behind them are more than a decade old — the newest dates from late 2014. That history is worth something as a pattern, but it says nothing about how the business runs today, and BuildZoom carries no reviews at all. Credentials are the other thing to confirm yourself. BuildZoom shows a "Verified License" badge and states that Prestige holds an electrician licence plus one other licence with the Massachusetts board, and that it was active when last checked — but it prints no licence numbers, so that is a directory's summary rather than a registry citation. Massachusetts electrical work is licence-gated, and a current licence number is something the company can hand over in a minute. If you want an electrician for a panel upgrade, a lighting or rewiring job, or low-voltage and network cabling on an older Merrimack Valley house, the permit record shows someone who has done exactly that kind of work repeatedly. Ask for the licence and insurance certificate, and for two or three recent customer references, because the public record here stops well short of the present day.

I have worked with quite a number of electricians over the years, and Joe has been the best of all. I hired him to install 10 CAT6 network cables, move/add electrical outlets, and add additional cable/phone lines. The work was first class. Joe was very detail oriented and thorough. He took time to explain to me different options. He was also punctual and extremely responsive (phone, email, text, etc). I couldn't be happier. The work was for a home but the quality was commercial. I recommended him to my friends and a general contractor.
