Typical Greater Boston range for this kind of work, from regional averages — not a quote from D'Ambrosio Electric Inc. Use it to sanity-check bids, then get the real number in writing.
Standard receptacle swaps — a new dedicated circuit is a bigger job ($350–$750).
Flush mounts, pendants, chandeliers — hung on existing boxes.

A tree came down on a Friday night in July 2023, tore the service mast off the side of a house and knocked out power to the street. The homeowner, new to town, called around and got no answer anywhere — until Carmine D'Ambrosio picked up on his way home from another job, happened to have the parts on the truck, and fixed it on the Saturday. That story, from a 2023 review, is the one that keeps repeating in different forms about this Westford company. D'Ambrosio Electric is family run: Carmine D'Ambrosio is the owner, his son Bill works alongside him, and the Massachusetts electrician's licence the company prints on its own site — 22244A — is registry-verified active, held in William D'Ambrosio's name. BBB puts the business start at 1986 and rates the file A+, though the company has never sought BBB accreditation. The work customers describe is heavy residential service work rather than odd jobs. A 200-amp panel and service upgrade in an 1875 farmhouse over three days in a 2022 review; another 200-amp upgrade in 2023 complicated by the panel's location, a solar tie-in and difficult cable pulls, which passed inspection; circuits added in 2023 for a heat pump, air handler and hybrid water heater; a 2025 pool circuit where, by the customer's account, Carmine and Will turned up with a jackhammer to help break rock for the trench. Several customers describe them being hired by HVAC installers to do the wiring side. Pricing comes up repeatedly and favourably — a 2022 customer says their quote came in below competitors, a 2025 condo owner says theirs was the most competitive of three bids, and a 2024 family of ten years' standing calls the invoices reasonable and easy to understand. The one thing to ask about is scheduling. In September 2025 a repeat customer wrote that after being told to email for an appointment, they heard nothing for ten days, and then got a voicemail saying he was on his way to the house without an appointment having been made. It is the only complaint in the written record, and it comes from someone who says their earlier experiences were good — but it is worth confirming the appointment in writing before you count on the date. Note too that nothing new has been posted since that September 2025 exchange. Good call for panel and service upgrades, generator installs and the electrical side of an HVAC or remodel job in the Westford-to-north-of-Boston area. The company also prints a New Hampshire licence number, 15102, which is its own claim rather than something confirmed here — worth checking with the state if the job is over the border.

Amazing experience with Carmine and Will. They went absolutely above and beyond doing the electrical work for my pool which required a trench. My husband was having a hard time digging the trench to code because of rocks. Will and Carmine came over with a jack hammer to take care of the rocks just to be kind and help us. A few days later, I needed them again for my sink outlet and they came the next day! Such nice people and great work!
I used this electrician on a number of occasions and had good experiences until recently. On September 2, I called Carmine and asked if he could come to my home for an electrical repair. He told me to email him so an appointment could be scheduled, which was standard protocol based on past experience. I emailed him after we hung up the phone. I never got any responses from the company by phone or email until September 12. Today, Carmine began calling me this morning when I was away from my home at a medical appointment and left a voicemail saying he was coming over to my house. We never scheduled any appointments for September 12; I would not have done so because I knew I would not be home. I have absolutely no idea why I got a call this morning from Carmine saying he was coming to my home to do the repair work. When I called him back, Carmine claimed that his son has been calling me trying to set up an appointment. Anyone can look at my phone call history on my iPhone and see that there are no recent phone calls from this company between my initiated September 2 call and Carmine's call to me this morning (September 12). I also never received any emails from the company in response to my September 2 email which Carmine asked me to send for scheduling purposes. Ultimately, Carmine called a few times today and left what felt like a nasty and abusive voicemail. Again, I have no idea why. I have never had a service contractor/provider treat me in the deplorable manner that Carmine treated me today. An iPhone's phone history does not lie. I did not hear from this company for 10 days and then out of nowhere, Carmine calls saying he is coming to my house. Then he left what felt like a nasty and unprofessional voicemail, which anyone is welcome to listen to. Today's experience with Carmine was shocking and disappointing to say the least. I absolutely would not recommend this electrician to anyone.
I highly recommend D’Ambrosio Electric Inc. for their outstanding work. During my AC and furnace installation, Carmine and Ted did a fantastic job. They carefully connected the equipment and tidied things up so neatly. They also went above and beyond by addressing an electricity connection that was not supposed to be linked to my AC. After that, Will came to reinstall the transformer for the Ring Pro. He thoroughly examined the disconnected wires and checked the doorbell chime to ensure it was functioning correctly. I will definitely rely on them for my future electrical work.
Bill and Carmine D’Ambrosio went above and beyond my expectations to help me get an electric range into my condominium this past month, after carbon monoxide alerts (from unvented fumes) necessitated shutting off the gas to my old range. D’Ambrosio Electric came wonderfully promptly to assess my job and submitted the most competitive bid of three that I considered—and Carmine (who had come to do electrical work here for me more than once, over the years—and his reliable work has stood the test of time: for decades, I think…I am glad his magnetic business card is still in my electrical panel so I could know right away who to contact first!) assured me that I had sufficient power for an electric range, despite another electrician’s expressed concern about that question. D’Ambrosio Electric worked efficiently, even with the holiday season in full swing…and with a kitchen wall that apparently needs some more repair work done in it, we discovered—and (when the range installers came days later and discovered that a wrong cable had been attached to my new range, causing a BIG spark) Bill even came back the same day my range was delivered, the day after Christmas—when most other electricians were out on vacation—to check my range and the power situation…he even assured me that he could get my new range moved in—and he did indeed even work with a kind neighbor to install my new range by tilting it under an adjacent window ledge—after the two “professional” installers retained by the appliance dealer had told me they could NOT slide the new range under the window ledge, claiming that the range simply would not fit in the available space…so the “pro” installers had left the new range standing out on my kitchen floor for ME to figure out what next to do (they could only suggest cutting off the window ledge or cutting back the countertop to accommodate the range). I absolutely cannot thank Bill and Carmine of D’Ambrosio Electric enough for making my transition to the new electric range possible! The installation never would have happened without them, so they saved my whole 2024 holiday season and this New Year, too! (I am only now getting decompressed sufficiently to post this review, in fact, the ordeal has been so trying and draining—clearing a pathway for the old range to be moved out and the new range to be moved in…how Bill has ever weathered all the work, I have no idea—I am just very, VERY grateful for all that D’Ambrosio Electric has done for me, over all these years.) FIVE+++++ STARS—or even more, if I could!
D’Ambrosio Electric is the only company my family has used for over 10 years. They are consistently reliable, professional, and experts in their craft. Carmine and Bill D’Ambrosio lead a strong team of skilled and hardworking electricians who have completed projects for us from major installs to simple upgrades. Through the years D’Ambrosio has done work for us in two separate homes that has been unfailingly meticulous and efficient. The team asks appropriate questions for clarification on specific projects, leaves the work areas spotless, and their invoices are reasonable and easy to understand. We would recommend them without reservation for any electrical project.
