I hired Pro Steele Carpentry LLC to repair and rebuild my front porch. I paid a total of $5,980 toward materials and labor, in addition to paying the permit fee. The contractor stated in a text message that the remaining $3,000 would be due after the project was completed and received final inspection approval. He later terminated the project and left the job unfinished. The work failed inspection and did not receive final approval under his work. I had to hire another contractor and pay an additional $3,700 to correct and complete the porch. After the corrective work was completed by the new contractor, the porch passed inspection. I filed a complaint with the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection. Mediation did not result in a resolution, and DCP informed me that the complaint would remain on file. This was a stressful and expensive experience. Based on my personal experience, I would not recommend Pro Steele Carpentry LLC. I encourage homeowners to document every payment, obtain receipts, verify a contractor’s current registration and make final payment contingent upon completed work and final inspection approval.
Jeremiah stepped in when the original contractor stopped showing up! He immediately responded to my message and wanted to help. Jeremiah is amazing to work with. He is highly skilled, communicative, and has a lot of integrity with honest, affordable pricing. He even helped with design and finishing ideas. My kitchen looks amazing. I will definitely be calling Jeremiah for all of my future projects and I highly recommend him!
