In a 2023 review, a customer said Bill from Proactive Comfort was the first sales technician out to their house and gave a competitive quote a few days later. That customer said the install took a few days longer than anticipated, and in the end they delivered a system that worked just as the customer hoped. The same review says Theresa from the office coordinated the details of the permits and kept the customer informed of the work crews' day-to-day schedule. In a separate 2023 review, a customer described a professional initial meeting, a quote and loan on the spot within an hour, installers who cleaned up each day, and a job done in 2 days. In a 2021 review, a customer said they arrived on time, removed the old oil heater, installed the new system, made sure it was operating properly and cleaned up before they left. In another 2021 review, a customer said they replaced the heating unit, AC coil and condenser in one day. A third 2021 review says they installed a new oil-fired furnace, explained everything the whole time and came back to adjust the system at no cost. In a 2017 review, a customer said they had Tyler to the house for furnace cleaning and necessary repairs, shower repair and toilet replacement, and that Proactive Comfort does reminder calls and emails for upcoming appointments and annual cleanings. In another 2017 review, a customer said a complete Buderus furnace and super storage tank were installed and the old system removed, all on time. In a 2023 review, a customer employed in building trades said it was not a quality installation. In another 2023 review, a customer called them quick and responsive but a little more expensive than some other offers they had. In a 2022 review, a customer said they were quoted a price with a 10 percent break, but when the loan paperwork came in, Mark said that was on a cash price, which they had not heard at the contract signing; that customer was still pleased with the job and product.
Typical Greater Boston range for this kind of work, from regional averages — not a quote from PROACTIVE COMFORT. Use it to sanity-check bids, then get the real number in writing.
Estimated range
$5,000 – $11,400

Everything went smoothly. They were good about communication and they did the installation well. We're pleased with the results.
Very professional initial meeting. Got quote and loan on the spot within an hour. Installers were knowledgeable and cleaned up each day. Job was done in 2 days.
Employed in building trades. Not a quality installation.
Bill from Proactive Comfort was the first sales technician out to my house to check out what we wanted, and gave a competitive quote just a few days later. The price was good and the design met our specifications. The install took a few days longer than they anticipated, but I didnâ  t mind. The workmanship of the installers- Eric, Scott and Chris (maybe one or two others) was evident the entire time. In the end, they delivered a system that worked just like I hoped. Theresa from the office did a great job coordinating the details of the permits and keeping me informed of the work crews day-to-day schedule. All in all weâ  re very happy with proactive comfort and recommend them highly,
