R. E. Price, Fine Furniture & Custom Cabinetry is a one-person custom woodworking business run by cabinet maker Robert Price, based in Amherst, Massachusetts and serving Western Massachusetts, Boston and New England. Robert started the company in 2001 and has been building custom cabinets, built-ins and furniture for about 25 years, specializing in kitchen and bathroom cabinetry, media centers, bookcases, walk-in closets and one-of-a-kind furniture pieces. Homeowners who have hired him describe a collaborative design process and finished work that fits the room it's built for. A 2024 review recounts Robert presenting multiple design options for a built-in media center, suggesting a cherry countertop in place of the originally planned all-maple design, and completing the project on the original timeline even after a late request to change the hardware. Other Houzz reviewers describe a coffee bar and matching microwave drawer built to match existing kitchen cabinetry, a built-in wardrobe praised for clear communication throughout, and an aquarium bookshelf singled out for its craftsmanship. Houzz shows a 5.0-star average across 44 reviews and 43 completed projects, and the business has been recognized as Best of Houzz for nine consecutive years, 2015 through 2023; Google separately shows 5 stars from 3 ratings. Houzz's own directory profile also lists a license number for the business, a detail that comes from the directory listing itself rather than a state registry check. For a homeowner planning custom cabinetry, built-ins or a one-of-a-kind furniture piece, R. E. Price is the kind of small, owner-run shop that reviewers return to for kitchens, closets, media centers and specialty furniture.

Robert was very professional and excellent to work with. He came to the Plant to take a look at the project and executed the build of the cabinets exceptionally.
We had Robert build a coffee bar area and also a drawer under the microwave to match the cabinetry in our existing kitchen.
Robert did a beautiful built-in wardrobe, and the whole process was wonderful. His mild manner and clear communication made it easy to explain our needs and budget.
Robert made and installed a built-in media center for us earlier this year. He was great to work with - he listened to our goals in the design phase, and presented us with multiple good options for the design. We had planned for an all-maple media center, but he suggested using cherry for the countertop, and we love the way that turned out! He was also able to accommodate a late request about the hardware, and completed all the work in line with the original timeline.
