Refined Renovations takes houses apart. An October 2022 client went looking for one company that could handle design, build and interiors together, and ended up gutting everything except the bedrooms and full baths. A March 2023 homeowner had the kitchen, dining room and mudroom gutted and expanded, with a couple of design concepts drawn up first. Houzz describes the Andover firm as a custom homebuilder and renovation company, publishes 54 of its projects, and puts its typical job cost between $250,000 and $2 million. It lists construction supervisor licence CS-103657, and the Better Business Bureau grades the company A+. The written accounts all sit on Houzz and run between December 2020 and March 2023. A December 2021 client described a well-preserved Andover house more than 100 years old that had never had extensive updates before this project; another that month had a historic Andover home reworked alongside the interior designer, from the kitchen through a gutted bathroom. A December 2022 customer renovated the entire interior of their home. A December 2020 client said their full home renovation was delivered on time and within budget. Scale is the thing to weigh. The work described here is large — the typical job cost published on Houzz starts at $250,000 — so a single-room refresh may not be the right fit. The Better Business Bureau also lists the business at 16 Upton Dr in Wilmington rather than at the Andover base Houzz shows, which is worth clearing up when you call. For a whole-floor or whole-house renovation of an older home, where you want the drawings and the construction coming from the same place, this is the kind of firm these homeowners describe. Ask for recent references and a written scope with the design stage spelled out before anything is signed.
We used Refined Renovations for a major home project to gut and expand our kitchen, dining room and mudroom. Jim and our designer Ashley really listened from the get go and came up with a couple design concepts that were stunning and really hit on what we were looking for. Having Ashley as our main point of contact throughout the project saved us so much time and made the process seamless. For the execution Tim, Leo and their teams were very professional throughout and do amazing work. We are so happy with the final outcome and would certainly recommend using Refined!
The Refined Renovation team is A+ across the board. Not only do they deliver high-quality design and results, but they are wonderful humans to work with. We renovated the entire interior of our home, which is a pretty stressful endeavor, and not only do we LOVE every space in our home, but we still love them! I've worked with A LOT of contractors, and to be able to say that is extremely rare. From design to build team, and everything in between, we could not have been in better hands than we were with Jim, Ashley, Austin and the rest of the Refined team. I HIGHLY recommend them!

We selected Refined Renovations for our home reno based on reviews of local neighbors and friends. We wanted a company that did it all ~ from design to build and the interiors...and boy did we get that! We gutted the house with exception of bedrooms and full baths, re-worked the space we had on the entire first floor (kitchen, dining, half bath and laundry, entry way, family room, staircase, built a pantry and added a mudroom) and built a bonus room upstairs. The vision was completely driven by the Refined team. Right from the get-go we could tell they had great ideas for what our house could be. Nothing we could have imagined ourselves! We moved out of our house for 6 months, but were generally local and able to stop by often. The contractors (Patrick, Julio and team) were reliable, respectful and dedicated to the project the entire time, often even working on the weekend! They kept things tidy under the circumstances and I am so very appreciative of that! We trusted them 100% in the house and could tell they are true professionals. Our designer and project manager Ashley took time to not only "see" our house, but also hear what was important to us. She did an incredible job along the way to honor the contemporary/modern style of our home, but also incorporate aspects that met our family needs and style as well. We really let Ashley come up with the design ideas she had in mind and went with them, and we couldn't be happier with the outcome. She pushed us out of our comfort zone and showed us some more modern ideas that we would not typically select ourselves, but it all makes so much sense! I truly can't believe this is my house. The transformation is unbelievable. Ashley is simply the best! As the project nears completion, I'm filled with gratitude for the entire team - Jim, Ashley, Tim, Patrick, Julio, Ethan, Connor....there were so many people who helped! THANK YOU ALL!
Refined Renovations recently completed a large renovation project at our house in Andover and we could not be any happier with the final result.
