Regatta Construction is Christian Tosi's design/build shop in Marblehead, and it is not quite a carpenter's outfit — it runs a kitchen showroom, and in October 2014 it bought TRK Design Company, the kitchen-and-bath design firm on Tedesco Street. Its Houzz page counts six projects: kitchen renovations in Boston, Winchester, Swampscott and Saugus, plus a West Newbury patio. Typical jobs run $5,000 to $200,000. The written trail is short. Two customers have put anything on paper. In February 2014 a cabinet-and-design firm that worked alongside the crew wrote on Houzz that they were the most professional team it had worked with, from the owner down to the person who kept the site clean — though that is a trade partner rather than a homeowner. In November 2010 an Angi reviewer on a basement remodel described quick call-backs and a tidy job. Houzz and Porch each show 5.0, and each of those averages rests on one review. Two things to pin down before you call. The licence numbers — a home improvement registration and an unrestricted number — come from the company's Houzz listing rather than the state registry, so ask to see them and check the registration yourself. And its own listings disagree about how long it has been at this: Angi says 19 years, Houzz and Porch say over 30. For a North Shore kitchen or bath this is a plausible candidate with real credentials on paper — RRP lead-safe certification, Wolf & Sub-Zero installer status, and NARI's Eastern Massachusetts chapter. Ask for recent references, because nothing a customer has written is newer than 2014.
