One name runs through almost every review of this Milford company: Marcos. Homeowners describe him sitting down over tile and fixture choices, stopping by mid-job to check touch-ups, picking up the phone himself. Across 83 reviews from 2020 to 2026 — 4.9 on Google from 64 ratings, 4.7 on both Angi and HomeAdvisor, 4.9 on Thumbtack — the through-line is a small outfit whose owner runs the project. The work is residential remodeling: kitchens, bathrooms, basements, additions and ADUs, decks, and the interior and exterior painting the company started out doing. Its Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration is active, held in the name Regulus Construction Corp, and the Better Business Bureau has accredited it with an A+ since October 2025. Basements come up more than anything else. In August 2025 a homeowner described the crew explaining each step of a basement renovation, planning the layout together and picking materials with them. Another that same month said theirs was renovated from scratch and came out as wanted, at the most honest price they found. A July 2025 client started from a blank slate, designed and built a basement within budget and gave it four stars, noting the subcontractors were courteous. Kitchens draw the same kind of comment: an October 2025 customer called the crew perfectionists about detail and said the job moved quickly with little disruption to family life. In June 2024 a homeowner had two bathrooms and a kitchen countertop done, added hallway painting mid-project, and said the crew prepped carefully to protect floors and furniture. Two things are worth raising before you sign. In January 2025 a customer who had a roof built over a deck wrote that the owner secured the job and then leaned on the crew, visiting the site rarely and offering minimal oversight — the opposite of the on-site supervision the company advertises, so pin down who will actually be there each day. And an August 2020 one-star review from the painting years said the crew used no tarps and did not scrape or sand; that one is six years old and nothing like it appears since, but it is the sharpest complaint on file. Two more things to know. The company traded under an earlier name — reviewers as late as March 2024 call it HM Painters or HM Home Improvements — so reviews of the same crew appear under both names. And the Angi, HomeAdvisor and Thumbtack listings largely repeat reviews already on Google rather than adding independent voices. For a mid-size remodel run by the person who quoted it, this is a strong fit. Get the fixed-price proposal in writing, and confirm who supervises day to day.

Highly recommended
Review for Regulus Construction We had a very good overall experience with Regulus Construction. They completed a half bath in our basement and also repainted the front of our house. Throughout the project, they worked with us to stay within our budget, which we really appreciated. The workers were courteous, professional, and the workmanship was well done. The most challenging part of the process was coordinating times for the workers to be in the house, since both my husband and I work, but the company was understanding as we worked through scheduling. We are very pleased with the results and would definitely recommend Regulus Construction to other homeowners.
Marcos and his team were great to work with throughout the entire process. He personally stopped by the site multiple times to check in, gather feedback, and make sure every necessary touch-up was taken care of.
I was having some serious problems with the construction work that was being done on our front porches. I thank you for your advice and it put the project back on the right path. Thank you.
We recently hired this team to renovate our bathroom, and we couldn’t be happier with the results. The transformation is stunning! They were dependable, detail-oriented, and clearly take pride in their work. The process felt smooth and stress-free, which says a lot when it comes to construction projects. They respected our home, kept the workspace clean, and delivered exactly what was promised. Highly recommend — we would absolutely work with them again.
