Storm damage is where most of these jobs start. A deck roof collapsed on a senior homeowner this past June and Lukas Rei walked him through the replacement; a December 2025 review describes an oak coming down on the porch and second-floor deck of a 100-year-old house; another from October 2025 opens with July hail. What reviewers keep crediting Rei with is the part homeowners dread — the insurance claim. A 2024 customer says he explained the recoverable-depreciation process and held to the estimated timeline; another that year says he walked her through the insurance steps before the crew ever arrived. Its Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration is active, and its Better Business Bureau page is an A+, accredited since 2012. The written history runs deep and steady: 4.8 across 61 Google ratings, 44 written reviews since 2018, seven of them in the last six months with none negative. Two things repeat until they stop reading like coincidence. Speed is one — several homeowners describe a full tear-off, new roof and cleanup finished inside a single day, one of them with a skylight added in the same stretch. Cleanup is the other. "Left the yard spotless" turns up in a July 2026 review and again in 2024; a 2023 homeowner noted not one shrub or plant was damaged; a 2025 deck customer said the site was swept every day. Roofing is the front door, but the work has widened. Decks are the clearest second act — PVC replacements written up in 2025 and 2023 drew specific praise for material guidance and finish carpentry. Then siding and trim, windows and doors, gutters and soffit vents, a garage torn down and rebuilt in 2025, and at the far end, whole houses. That last part is worth knowing before you call. Two customers describe building a home with Lukas and his subcontractors — on the bigger projects he is coordinating trades rather than self-performing, so ask who will actually be on site. The only non-five-star account in years comes from one of those builds: a March 2025 review calls the structural construction sound and the floors dead level, then mentions "tiny issues" about a year in. For a large build, that punch list is the conversation to have up front. The Better Business Bureau listing also stretches from roofing through kitchen design and snow removal, so confirm the specific trade you need is one they do themselves. For a storm-damage roof, a deck, or exterior carpentry, this is a well-documented, owner-involved outfit with a clean recent run of reviews. Pin down the scope, the crew, and how the insurance piece gets billed, and you're on solid ground.

Lukas Rei helped me through a difficult time after my deck roof collapsed. His communication with me (a senior) explaining the project of replacing roof/deck damage was amazing. He is gifted in problem solving skills and impeccable workmanship. His crew and cleanup was flawless. They went above and beyond. I hired REI to do a full roof replacement and exterior carpentry - replacing rotted siding, trim, a new door, and cupola. He was incredibly easy to work with, fair, and the quality of work is excellent. I also own rental property and will definitely use him again. I would highly recommend REI to anyone.

What does a roof replacement cost in Greater Boston?
Typical Greater Boston range for this kind of work, from regional averages — not a quote from Rei Roofing and Construction Inc. Use it to sanity-check bids, then get the real number in writing.
A square is 100 sq ft of roof surface — bigger than the floor plan because of pitch and overhangs.
Estimated range
$9,000 – $18,600
Typical roofing project around $13,800
