RELCO is a sizable commercial electrical contractor, not a typical small residential shop — by 2018 it had grown into one of New England's largest open-shop electrical and telecommunications firms, and its own site now puts annual sales above $40 million. Headquartered in South Easton and founded in 1993, it describes itself as family owned and managed, taking on bid and design-build electrical work for healthcare, institutional, commercial, industrial, retail, sports and multi-unit residential projects around New England. In 2022 it was acquired by Crete Mechanical Group and now operates as a partner within the larger Crete United network, so that family-run identity today sits inside a bigger ownership structure. Its BBB profile carries an A+ grade (though it isn't BBB-accredited), lists 66 employees across four New England offices, and shows no complaints or government actions on file. Google reviews average 4.1 from 18 ratings. In a 2024 review, one customer called RELCO a "good, reputable company," saying they'd completed multiple projects together without issues. Worth knowing: in a 2023 review, someone reported one of the company's trucks speeding and crossing double yellow lines near them, calling it a near-miss. It's a complaint about driving, not about the electrical work itself, but worth asking about given how little else there is in the public record to weigh it against. Given the project portfolio and clean regulatory record, RELCO reads best for larger commercial, institutional or multi-unit work rather than small residential jobs — worth confirming current capacity and project references before signing on for anything sizable.
Typical Greater Boston range for this kind of work, from regional averages — not a quote from Reilly Electrical Contractors, Inc. RELCO. Use it to sanity-check bids, then get the real number in writing.
Standard receptacle swaps — a new dedicated circuit is a bigger job ($350–$750).
Flush mounts, pendants, chandeliers — hung on existing boxes.
