It has been at this a while. BBB lists the business as started and incorporated in August 1993, counts 66 employees across four locations — South Easton, Cranston, North Hampton and Bass River — and grades the company A+, though RELCO has not sought BBB accreditation. The company says it has grown past $40 million in annual sales throughout New England, and a 2018 trade-press piece described Reilly Electric as one of New England's largest open-shop electrical and telecommunications firms, with three offices and more than 200 employees at that time. Written comments are few for a firm this size: 18 Google ratings averaging 4.1, with two reviews actually written out. In a February 2024 review, a client who had run several jobs with the company wrote "Good, reputable company. We have completed multiple projects with them without any issues." The single negative, a one-star posted in January 2023, has nothing to do with the work — a passing motorist complained about a RELCO truck speeding and crossing double yellow lines on Mansfield Ave. The thing worth pinning down before calling is who you would actually be hiring. The site still describes RELCO as "family owned and managed" while also presenting the company as "a Crete United partner," and an M&A advisory firm announced that its sale to Crete Mechanical Group closed on September 1, 2022. For a general contractor or facilities manager staffing a sizable electrical or low-voltage package, this is a long-established New England option with three decades and four offices behind it. A homeowner looking for a panel upgrade or a rewire should ask first whether RELCO takes residential work of that scale — the projects it puts forward are commercial and institutional, and the handful of written reviews come from clients running multiple projects, not from households.
