That gap is the whole story with Rene G Fabbri, a Boxford builder whose paper trail is unusually thick and whose reputation is unusually invisible. The permits point at a clear kind of work: kitchen and bathroom renovations on North Shore houses — Topsfield, Beverly, Danvers, Newburyport — the cabinets-out, plumbing-and-electrical-updated sort of job rather than ground-up building. Mixed in are commercial tenant fit-ups in Hingham and Charlestown, so the crew handles office partition work as well as houses. Rene Fabbri is named as the owner. On licensing, read carefully, because there are three entries and they don't all say the same thing. BuildZoom lists an active Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration, #163744, and an active construction supervisor licence, CS-076796 — those are the directory's own claims, checked in March and July 2026 respectively, not confirmations from the state register. It also lists a second, inactive home improvement registration, #136709, which BuildZoom says was at one point cancelled per the state's Consumer Affairs office. A lapsed earlier registration alongside a current one is worth a direct question, and both numbers are worth checking yourself at Mass.gov. What's absent is any customer account at all: BuildZoom states it has received no reviews for the business, so there is nothing describing how a job was scheduled, priced, or finished. The permit record shows the work happened and was inspected; it says nothing about what living through it was like. Worth a call if you want a North Shore kitchen or bath done by someone with a documented decade of permits behind them — but ask for two or three recent homeowners you can actually phone, and settle the licence question before you sign.
