In a 2018 Google review, Rob installed a new HVAC system in an apartment, getting the old one out and the new system into a hard space, and worked on the weekend at no additional cost. In another 2018 review, Rob installed a new high efficiency HVAC and a high efficiency domestic water heater, was on time, kept to the price, and cleaned and removed construction materials daily. A separate 2018 review describes a single pipe steam system job that went badly: Rob was called to install a main vent line, left for about an hour to get radiator vents, did not do the main vent that day and charged for 2 hours of labor. That 2018 review says the system became very loud with gargle noises from the valve he had worked on, that he was 30 minutes late to a follow-up visit and then did not show, and that he then stopped answering voicemails and emails.
Rob installed a new HVAC system in one of our apartments. Just getting the old one out and the new system into the space was hard enough but he did it and even worked on the weekend at no additional cost. Job was done quick and professionally. Tenant is extremely happy and so are we.
I've had trouble finding a plumber who is knowledgeable with a single pipe steam system. I found Rob and gave him a call and he convinced me he would be able to complete my requested work (main issue was installing a Main Vent line at the end of my run). When he first arrived at my house, he decided he wanted to diagnose the system first (which is fine), and he ended up leaving to go to the supply house to pick up a couple of vents for the radiators, even though they had all recently been replaced, which took him about an hour. Rob then told me with "these old systems" sometimes you have have to tinker with turning the on/off valves on the radiator to get more even heat. Even though this is the opposite of what I had read in books like "The Lost Art of Steam Heating" I decided to entertain him because he was the expert. He then told me that he wouldn't be able to do the main vent that day, but would come back another time to get a parts list, and charged me for 2 hours of labor. After he left, my system became very loud and was making gargle noises from the valve that he was tinkering with. I immediately called him to tell him of this, and he said he would be out within the next week to take another look at that issue, and get the list of supplies he needed. I took a day off of work to meet him at an agreed upon time. After he was late by 30 minutes, I called to check and he said he wrote down the wrong time and said he would be out later that afternoon. He called me close to the time he was supposed to show and said he had an emergency come up and agreed to come back in a couple of days. It was at that point in time that he began ignoring voicemails, and emails. Contractors like Rob give other contractors a bad name. Customers appreciate honesty, if you don't have the confidence to do a job, or don't know what you are doing - DON'T AGREE TO THE WORK and then disappear. If you have a steam system, do not use this plumber. If you want a reliable plumber, do not use this plumber. Buyer beware.
Rob just installed a new high efficiency HVAC and high efficient domestic water heater. He was on time, the price didn't change, daily the construction materials were cleaned and removed. No complaints. Give him a call.
