Rick Jean Plumbing & Heating

When a frozen pipe burst and flooded a customer's basement, Rick Jean and his employee Matt were on the job the same visit — the kind of call this Dracut-based plumbing company built its name on, serving Lowell, Newton and the surrounding Merrimack Valley towns. The company says it's been at this 30 years, and reviewers going back to 2018 keep noting the same detail: Rick Jean often answers his own phone and shows up to bid the work himself. The Google reviews, running from late 2024 through August 2026, describe a handful of the same kinds of emergencies — a burst pipe, a dead water heater, a bathroom remodel bid — each met with a same-day or next-day crew and a plain explanation of the fix. A customer whose hot water heater failed overnight, writing in early 2025, said the crew showed up the very next day; another, describing that February 2026 frozen-pipe flood, said the technician walked through exactly what was fixed and why, then offered tips to avoid a repeat. Older reviews on Angi and HomeAdvisor, posted in 2018, describe the same promptness and clean work, stretching the written record back eight years without a negative review in it. The company holds a 4.8-star average on Google from 26 ratings, an A+ grade from the Better Business Bureau, and its Massachusetts plumbing license, held under Rick Jean Plumbing & Heating Inc, is active. Its website claims 30 years in business, though its HomeAdvisor and Angi profiles describe only "several years experience" — worth a quick question if the company's exact history matters to you. Day to day, the work leans toward jobs that can't wait: burst and frozen pipes, failed water heaters, and general faucet and fixture repair, plus the plumbing piece of remodels and additions rather than running the renovation itself. The website also advertises free estimates. For a plumbing emergency or a water heater swap in the Merrimack Valley, this is a company with a long, clean record behind it. If you're bringing them in for a larger remodel, confirm up front that they're bidding the plumbing scope specifically, not the whole project.
