No customer has ever written a word about Road House Construction, but the town clerks have. Building permit records show eight jobs since 2021 across Billerica, Lowell, Malden and Burlington, and they tell you plainly what this two-person Billerica outfit actually does: strip-and-reroof with dormer work, vinyl siding, new windows, kitchen and bathroom renovations, and — twice at the same Malden address in 2023 — rebuilding a set of front steps for $3,000. The typical permit runs around $65,000; the largest, a Lowell job in 2023, was $140,000. That range is the interesting part. They pull $110,000 whole-envelope permits (reroof, siding, an addition with a three-quarter bath and basement, at a Lowell address in 2023 and again in 2024) and they also show up for a $3,000 landing repair. The paperwork is in order. The Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration, number 192592, is active and held by the LLC itself, and the company carries an A+ at the Better Business Bureau with no complaints and no government actions on file, nine years after it was incorporated in April 2017. It is not BBB accredited. BuildZoom scores it 98, above 84% of Massachusetts contractors — a score built on licence status, not on customer experience. What is entirely missing is anyone describing what it was like to hire them. Zero reviews, everywhere. Given the permit trail, ask Patrick McGarry for the addresses of two or three of those finished jobs and go look at the siding and roof lines yourself, and ask how a two-person company staffs a six-figure remodel — who is actually on site each day.
