Rockwood Inc has operated as a general contractor out of Walpole since 1970, according to its Houzz and BBB profiles, taking on remodeling and home improvement work that spans additions, decks, porches, basement renovations, roofing, siding and window replacement, plus kitchen and bath work, per the range of services the Better Business Bureau lists for the company. Its own bare-bones website confirms the Walpole address and phone number and offers free estimates for building and remodeling work, but gives little else to go on. The written record here is thin and dated: just two Google reviews, five years apart. A 2019 review called the crew reliable, friendly, and honest. A 2016 review is more about the road than the job site — the reviewer admitted they couldn't speak to the actual contracting work, but described an unsettling experience with a company vehicle tailgating and weaving through traffic, and worried aloud that a crew driving that way might cut corners on the job too. Houzz's own profile for the company shows no reviews there yet. What stands out is the Better Business Bureau's A+ grade with no complaints on file, even though the company isn't an accredited BBB business — a clean regulatory record over more than five decades in business. The one real flag worth checking before hiring: the company's Massachusetts construction supervisor license, CS-024031, held by Robert C. Rockwood, currently shows up in the state registry as expired ("Null and Void"). Confirm current licensing status directly before signing anything.

Estimated range
$23,000 – $35,000
Typical remodeling project around $29,000
Reliable, friendly, honest. The best.
I can't speak to their ability as a contractor but if they work like they drive expect them to cut corners and rush the job. I was on the highway and they came up behind me tailgated me in the center lane then passed on the right and tailgated a bunch of other drivers only to do a last minute three lane cross to the off-ramp. We all want to get where we're going. Driving like that is unnecessary.
