Seventy-seven permitted jobs, and nearly all of them the same job: strip the old shingles, lay a new roof, mostly in the $5,000 to $20,000 band. That is what Roy Roofing does. It is a small operation. BBB lists Roy Roofing, Inc. at 1 Campbell Rd in North Andover as a corporation with one employee, owned by Kenneth Roy and incorporated in January 2019. Its Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration, number 194267, is active, and BuildZoom separately lists an active construction supervisor licence, CS-080721. Beyond asphalt shingles the company lists shakes, flat and single-ply systems — EPDM, TPO, PVC — and skylights. The written history runs deep for a business this size: 56 reviews across seven sites going back to 2017. It is also dated. Angi and HomeAdvisor each show 5.0 from 26 ratings with every rating a five, and those are the same 26 reviews mirrored between two sites rather than 52 separate ones. Google sits lower, at 4 stars from four ratings, and that gap between a perfect directory score and a middling Google average is the most useful thing on this page. Two things to pin down before booking. BuildZoom lists a second home improvement registration, number 137557, marked inactive and at one point cancelled, sitting alongside the active one — worth asking which registration covers your job. And the same page names Brian Carr as owner where BBB names Kenneth Roy, so confirm who you are actually contracting with. BBB itself is not much help here: the business is not accredited there and BBB issues no rating at all, saying it lacks sufficient information. For a straightforward asphalt reroof from an owner-run North Andover shop with a real permit trail across Methuen and the surrounding towns, the history supports the call. Verify registration 194267 yourself with the Office of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation, and ask for references from the past year, since the newest written account here is several years old.

Roy’s roofing just cut me off in traffic. Not sure about their roofing abilities, but they are definitely inconsiderate drivers. Two enthusiastic thumbs down.

I am a North Andover resident and hired Roy Roofing in North Andover in Spring 2024. Ken Roy, the owner of the company is a pleasure to work with and does a great job. The work was done in a professionally and on time and on budget. I can also confirm that he stands behind his work as he has been back here over the past couple of months to address some very minor cosmetic issues that I’ve found since the job was completed. He was here the next day to address. I would recommend Ken at Roy Roofing in North Andover if you need a new roof.

It was time for a new roof and 2 new skylights, so I contacted 5 roofing contactors to get estimates. Four of them called me back. Ken Roy, owner of Roy Roofing, responded quickly and came over and was very thorough in his explanation and came in to verify the dimensions of the skylights to be replaced. His price was competitive. His crew arrived early and started working quickly and efficiently with safety harnesses in place. They did a fantastic job and left our property super clean! I highly recommend Ken Roy from Roy Roofing. Ken is great to work with--honest, dependable, and high-quality work.

What does a roof replacement cost in Greater Boston?
Typical Greater Boston range for this kind of work, from regional averages — not a quote from Roy Roofing. Use it to sanity-check bids, then get the real number in writing.
A square is 100 sq ft of roof surface — bigger than the floor plan because of pitch and overhangs.
Estimated range
$9,000 – $18,600
Typical roofing project around $13,800
