Rush Plumbing & Air is a Newton, Massachusetts plumbing company built around one thing customers keep repeating: they show up fast. Across 51 Google ratings averaging 4.3 stars, the 47 written reviews on file are almost uniformly positive, and a striking number of them name the same handful of technicians — Malachi, Jaxon, Thomas, Kyle, Randall, Brantley, Seth, and Julian — by name and more than once, which points to a stable, familiar crew rather than rotating subcontractors. The work described ranges from routine to substantial. Recent reviews cover a full re-plumbing of an older home with the drywall patched up by the same crew, and a septic tank that one customer has had Rush pump and service three separate times. Older reviews from late 2025 describe a full sewer line replacement out to the street connection and a water heater swap after 16 years of use. Same-day or next-day response comes up again and again — including, in a December 2025 review, a sewer line fixed within 12 hours of a weekend call — and pricing gets singled out too: a March 2026 reviewer describes Rush quoting a fair fix after a competitor wanted $500 and several more days' wait for the same job. One thing worth flagging before booking: a December 2025 Google review contains a stray line reading 'Here's a rewritten version of the review, following your requirements' ahead of its actual praise — the mark of an AI text tool's leftover prompt fragment. That doesn't necessarily mean the underlying experience was invented, but it's a reason to weigh that one review, and the polish of the company's review presence generally, a little more skeptically. Past that, there isn't much to caution about — no negative reviews turned up among the 47 on file, and the most recent ones, from within the last six months, are all positive. Rush is a solid option for everyday plumbing emergencies and bigger jobs alike around Newton — leaking water heaters, stubborn clogs, aging pipes — and given how often reviewers name a specific technician, it's worth asking for one of the frequently mentioned crew members if a particular job calls for it.
Right after several stressful days at home while we were catching up on chores, our old hot water heater suddenly leaked and flooded the laundry room. The timing could not have been worse, with a family medical procedure coming up the next morning, so we needed a plumber fast. I called for water heater service to see if someone could come out to inspect it and handle the repair or replacement. Jaxon arrived early the next morning and was calm, respectful, and ready to help, even though the house was pretty chaotic. He quickly checked the unit, saw that the water heater was very old, and explained in simple terms that replacement was the best option instead of trying to patch an aging tank. He returned with a new water heater and took his time making sure the installation was done the right way. He carefully tested the plumbing connections, checked the lines, and noticed a small cracked fitting going into the wall. He replaced that part too, which gave us extra confidence that the job was fully handled and not just a quick swap. After everything was installed, he made sure the system was running properly and that we had reliable hot water again. Jaxon was professional, friendly, and very thorough with his troubleshooting. He worked step by step, stayed focused on the plumbing issue, and made sure every part of the job was completed correctly. The office staff was also very helpful and easy to work with throughout the scheduling process. We are extremely thankful for the fast response, quality plumbing work, and peace of mind, and we would highly recommend this plumbing company.
We’ve had our septic tank pumped and maintained three times, and we wouldn’t use anyone else for plumbing and septic service. From the first call to the finished job, they have been the best every time. Their pricing is fair, and the value is excellent compared to other companies we checked. They also added a smaller service truck to their plumbing fleet, which has been a huge help. It can reach tight access areas where many others cannot, and our tank requires about a 25 foot lift to pump out. They handle it quickly, smoothly, and without any trouble. That kind of septic equipment and skill is hard to find. The whole crew is polite, professional, respectful of the property, and always on time. Communication is clear, and the service is dependable from start to finish. As a remodeler and home builder, I work with many trades, and I know quality plumbing and septic work when I see it. If you need septic pumping or reliable plumbing-related service, I highly recommend calling Jaxon.
Rush Plumbing handled the complete re-plumbing of our house, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. The crew showed up right on schedule and got to work right away, finishing everything efficiently and with excellent quality. Seth, who took care of the drywall after the pipes were replaced, did a fantastic job—our walls and ceilings actually look better than before any of the work began. Even though this was a huge project with every pipe in and outside the house replaced, the team made it look easy. You’d never guess that so much plumbing work had been done, everything looks perfect and runs smoothly. I’m very impressed with the great service and attention to detail.
I called another local plumber to help with my low water pressure, but after hours of checking things out, they thought it was my pressure tank and wanted $500 to replace it. Plus, I would have had to wait several more days for the fix. Wanting a second opinion, I reached out to a different plumbing company. Kyle arrived right on time the next day, quickly figured out the real problem in about 20 minutes, and even shared some helpful tips about my plumbing system and how to spot issues myself. He fixed everything without costing me a fortune. I’m really happy with the honest service and fast response. This plumbing company definitely has my trust now.
i wouldn't pay attention to the negative reviews—my experience with rush plumbing was fantastic. malachi and jaxon came out to my place in newton twice, and both times they were some of the friendliest and most knowledgeable plumbers i’ve ever met. they helped get rid of a bad smell coming from my toilet by replacing the wax ring, and while doing that, they found a problem with the flange and took care of it, too. a few days later, i noticed my toilet tank was leaking, and they showed up quickly, explained everything going on, and fixed the leak on the spot. you can really trust their no leaks guarantee. i really appreciate the helpful service and clear communication.
