When a previous exterminator has already struck out — bats that won't leave, carpenter ants that keep coming back — Safer Nature is often the second call homeowners make, and reviewers keep landing on the same point: this time it actually got fixed. Based in Amesbury, the company works pest and wildlife control across the Massachusetts North Shore, offering both organic and traditional treatments for ants, mice, ticks, mosquitoes, bats, and squirrels. Its own site says it's been doing this since 2010, though the Better Business Bureau's file on the business lists a longer 37-year history — worth asking about directly. The strongest recent reviews share a pattern: a rodent or wildlife problem, months or years of failed fixes elsewhere, then the crew tracing and sealing the actual entry points instead of just knocking the population back. One customer switched after a local company kept returning every two to three weeks for months without solving a carpenter ant infestation. Another had a bat issue a previous outfit couldn't close out over four years, resolved with what they described as clear advice and a fair price. A third dealt with both a rat and a squirrel invasion handled the same way — safely, and with the entry points closed so the problem wouldn't return. Google backs this up at scale: a 5-star average across 102 ratings, and 62 reviews collected across five sources since 2021 that stay almost uniformly positive. The one blemish on file is a Better Business Bureau grade of B-, brought down by a single complaint the business didn't respond to — worth raising if a clean BBB record matters to you. The BBB listing and the company's own site also disagree on how long Safer Nature has been operating, so it's fair to ask which timeline is accurate before you factor tenure into your decision. For a rodent or wildlife problem that another company already tried and failed to fix, this looks like a reasonable next call — just get the unanswered complaint and the tenure discrepancy squared away first.

Can’t recommend Safer Nature Pest Control enough. We had both a rat and squirrel invasion and they not only addressed the problem in a safe and expedient way - they also focused on solving how they got in to avoid future problems. And fixed that as well. They were always available and responsive and very easy to work with. In short - they are exceptional at what they do while also being very customer focused.

We struggled with carpenter ants for the past two springs and used a local company for treatment. Unfortunately, they had to come back every 2–3 weeks for months with little to no improvement. After feeling frustrated with the lack of results, I reached out to Safer Nature after reading great reviews about their carpenter ant expertise. Ryan came to our home and spent nearly three hours thoroughly inspecting everything. He was able to locate a nest and properly address the source of the problem — something no one else had done. This is the first time in months that I haven’t seen ants crawling around inside my house. I’m incredibly grateful for Ryan’s knowledge, attention to detail, and effective approach. Instead of repeatedly applying the same treatments that weren’t working, he actually solved the issue. I would absolutely recommend Ryan and Safer Nature to anyone needing pest control services!
