Safety Environmental Consultants is a Salem, New Hampshire industrial hygiene firm doing asbestos, mold, and lead inspection, testing, and abatement-consulting work for homes, businesses, schools, hospitals, and housing authorities. Its site says the company has been at this for about two decades, with CEO Johnnie M. Lituma personally managing the Asbestos Department and running project monitoring and inspections himself. The handful of reviews on file point the same direction: hands-on, responsive service from Johnnie directly. One 2023 customer said he worked to resolve their case quickly and came in as the most reasonably priced of everyone they'd gotten quotes from; a 2025 reviewer separately praised the office's customer service and pricing. There's one sour note in the record, though it has nothing to do with the consulting work itself — a 2023 reviewer described a company vehicle driving erratically and aggressively on I-95, unrelated to any actual job. With so few reviews to go on, this reads as a small but positively regarded operation for the actual environmental work; the driving complaint is worth being aware of but shouldn't be read as a signal about inspection or abatement quality.
Great services and excellent customer service from their office and excellent price
Johnnie was a pleasure to work with. He worked hard to resolve our case as quickly as possible. He was also the most reasonably priced of all the consultants we had quote our project. I would highly recommend SEC!
On Sunday October 22, 2023, I was driving on 95 South. A guy driving one of the company cars was driving erratically, weaving in and out of traffic. I was in the fast lane and he was in the slow lane and we both were trying to get to the middle lane. He sped up and tried not to let me in then flew past me going back into the fast lane and flipped me off. These are the types of employees that represent this company?? Beyond unprofessional & super dangerous.
