Fire & Water is a fire, water, storm and mold damage restoration and reconstruction company based in Salem, NH, offering 24/7 emergency response. The company states its technicians hold IICRC certifications (Applied Structure Drying, Commercial Drying Specialist, Mold Removal Specialist) and are OSHA trained, and it carries a Better Business Bureau A+ letter grade (not an accredited business). Reviewers most often credit the company for fast emergency response — arriving the same day or even on a weekend — and for explaining the drying and restoration process clearly. Several reviewers repeatedly name and credit specific staff, including Brian Stanley, Bruno, Daniel, and a cleanup crew of Rosa, Joel and Bruna, and one reviewer credits the team with helping negotiate directly with their insurance company. What's worth asking about before booking: a 2026 reviewer described the initial water cleanup as excellent but the follow-on demolition work as chaotic, with debris and damage left behind despite assurances of a clean job. Separately, a 2023 reviewer said they were told the company would work with a $5,000 insurance cap on price, then received a bill for $4,999.48 — just under that cap — and that a later question about an added 'after-hours' charge went unanswered. It's worth getting the full scope and final price in writing before any demolition or reconstruction work begins. Fire & Water is a reasonable choice for fast emergency fire, water, or mold response in the Salem, NH area, particularly given the volume of reviewers who credit specific named staff — but the billing and follow-on-work complaints are worth weighing for a larger job.
Great team. Came on the weekend and quickly took care of the water damage.
This company did a great job coming quickly and cleaning our water damage and getting rid of the debris. However, they convinced us to do demo with them which was a total nightmare. Originally things went smoothly, they brought in a public adjuster for us, spoke with insurance, and communication was pretty good. Once insurance approved them, they came and immediately ripped apart the house. The project manager insisted that his guys were really good about cleaning up, which was important because we were living in the home. This was not true. There were nails, chunks of wood, things were broken, and communication got worse. After demoing, they insisted the contractor would finish the demo job, leaving half of our kitchen cabinets still on the wall. This demo cost $15k. From there, we were left with no kitchen for 5 months while insurance dragged their feet. We finally have a contractor in to complete the reno and we have been hit with consistent extra cost because of the shotty, rushed, and sloppy work that the Fire and Water demo team did. Again I will say, the original clean up team was great but their demo and repair team would absolutely be a no for me going forward.
The staff that came in for our cleanup after our fire were very professional you should be very proud of your employees they were Rosa,Joel and Bruna. We highly recommend Fire and Water Restoration.
