Twenty-four pulled permits and not one customer review. That is the shape of Scott Roof Ser Inc, a roofing company working out of 1328 Mammoth Road in Dracut, with Harold Fraser listed as owner and responsible person. The permit trail is the most concrete thing about them: strip-and-reroofs, metal-over-shingle jobs, rubber porch roofs and mansard repairs, filed across Dracut, Methuen, Lowell, Somerville, Westford, Framingham, Danvers and Waltham, and all dated between 2012 and 2016. Its Houzz page adds 36 project galleries and names 23 towns it says it covers, Methuen among them, and describes the work as commercial and residential roofing in asphalt, steel shingle, metal, EPDM rubber and fluid-applied systems, plus vinyl siding. What is missing is anyone saying what it was like to hire them. BuildZoom has never received a review for the company, and Houzz still shows the invitation to write the first one. So there is no track record here in the sense that matters most to a homeowner, and no rating is given for that reason. The licensing is the thing to sort out before calling. BuildZoom lists two Massachusetts home improvement contractor numbers for the company, #101209 and #170982, both shown as inactive and both described as having been cancelled at some point, with the first carrying an expiration date of 07-05-2018 and a note that BuildZoom last verified it as revoked on 03-17-2026. Houzz separately prints three different credentials under an "Awards" heading, including a "Plumbers & Gasfitters License #102" that does not fit a roofing company. None of that has been confirmed against the state registry, and the directories do not agree with one another. There is a further wrinkle worth knowing. A Better Business Bureau file carrying an A+ and accreditation since 3 March 2017 sits under the name Scott's Roofing Services at 27 Old Fremont Road in Raymond, New Hampshire, with Sean Nadeau as owner and American Building Solutions Inc. as an alternate name — a different address, a different state and a different principal from the Dracut row, and its "business started 2017" contradicts the Houzz claim of a 1971 founding. If you are considering them for a reroof, the useful first move is to ask which entity would sign the contract and to look up its home improvement contractor registration on the Massachusetts Office of Consumer Affairs site yourself before any deposit changes hands.
