Skylar Builders LLC is a small Boston outfit — 75 State St, Suite 100 — that homeowners hire for renovations that touch more than one room: gut jobs, additions, attic conversions. Owner Claudiu shows up by name review after review, running crews on projects that mix demolition, electrical work and finish carpentry in one job. The five reviews on file, spread across Angi and HomeAdvisor from 2023 into 2024, are all five stars and read like different people describing the same crew. One homeowner had a walk-up attic completely renovated, with the team on site every day and a project manager described as organized and meticulous about keeping the work area clean. Another hired Claudiu and his crew to design and build a backyard bike shed from a rough sketch, crediting the back-and-forth on feasibility and the team's flexibility when rodent-proofing needed adding mid-project. The biggest job in the record is a full gut renovation of an 1800s Boston townhouse — demolition, wall and ceiling reconstruction, a complete electrical overhaul, and custom blinds, shelving and chandeliers — brought in on the agreed time and price inside a 100-plus-year-old Cambridge building. Angi and HomeAdvisor both list a Massachusetts home-improvement contractor registration, CS-114688, shown running through mid-2027 — that's the platforms' own listing, not something checked directly against the state registry. Both directories also carry the same self-reported specialty tags (basement, bathroom and kitchen remodeling), though the review record itself leans more toward whole-home and structural work than any one of those rooms specifically. This reads like the right call for a homeowner tackling a real renovation or addition rather than a single-room refresh — someone who wants one person, Claudiu, staying involved from design sketch to final walkthrough. Worth confirming the registration status directly and getting a clear scope in writing for a project of this size before signing on.

We have worked with Skylar Builders on multiple projects and have been thrilled with the process and results for each. The team is communicative, detail oriented and their quality is outstanding. We would recommend them to friends and family without hesitation.
We completely renovated our walk up attic. Skylar Builders were at the job site every day, the team was very professional and skilled at what they do. Project manager is very organized and I appreciated it when he offered suggestions when I didn't know how to move forward with a design or layout of the space. This team is very meticulous about their work. They are mindful and respectful of the property. Keeping the work area as clean as possible. I can't say enough about this team. We are very happy with how the space turned out! I would highly recommend this team if you are thinking about doing a home renovation.
We worked with Claudiu and his crew to refine the design of and build a bike shed in our backyard attached to an existing pergola. We provided a rough sketch of the concept and design and Claudiu asked thoughtful questions and provided helpful insights to help us think through the design to ensure feasibility while maintaining our desired aesthetic. The team was flexible and adjusted plans as needed, including undoing some work to add rodent-proofing. Claudiu was responsive and was in frequent contact to provide updates and ensure that I was involved in any design decisions as the work evolved. The result was better than we imagined! Claudiu's team was great to work with and would work with them again in a heartbeat.
Attentive, communicative, punctual, knowledgeable, articulate and conscientious. The opposite of the nightmare contractor stories one so often hears. The team, led by Claudiu, handled the demolition and reconstruction of walls, doorways and ceilings, an entire electrical overhaul and installed custom blinds, shelving, chandeliers and so forth in a 100+ year old building in Cambridge (& all that portends); and he did so up against real time constraints and brought the project in on time and in good nature. A rather masterful feat! I will reach out to them for future projects and recommend them highly.
Our gut home renovation wouldn't have happened without Claudiu's leadership and his team's commitment. We had them undertake an 1800s townhouse in Boston that was complicated and required specialist skills. They delivered it on time and for the price we agreed. The thing I appreciated most was Claudiu and his team were polite, respectful and did all the work to a high quality They can be trusted to get the job done. I would recommend them to anyone and will hire them again whenever I have my next project!
