Smart Uses Gutters works out of Haverhill, and one thing runs through nearly everything written about them: gutters. Seamless installs, gutter guards, and the repairs that follow are what people hired them for. Their directory history is front-loaded. HomeAdvisor shows 19 reviews averaging 4.8 — the same set mirrored on Angi — and all of them fall inside a ten-month stretch across 2020 and 2021, mostly five-star write-ups about gutter installation. Google tells a different story: 3.3 from seven ratings. Twenty-four reviews across three sources over five years is a real history, but the glowing part of it is the oldest part. The complaints that do exist are specific, and they rhyme. Customers describe gutter guards that came apart after installation and follow-up calls or texts that went unreturned, with the promised fix never completed. That pattern shows up in the negative reviews on more than one site, which matters more than the raw count of compliments sitting above them. There is also a licensing fact worth knowing before you call. The company's Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration, number 205688, is expired in the state registry. Gutter and exterior work is not among the trades Massachusetts exempts from HIC registration, so the status of that registration is a fair question to put to them directly. If you want a straightforward gutter or guard installation, they are worth a conversation — but make it a specific one. Ask where the registration stands, get the warranty on the guards in writing, and settle upfront how callbacks get handled, since the unanswered follow-up is the complaint that keeps recurring.

One of their trucks just pulled into full harvest moons, which is a cannabis dispensary. The box truck parked, took up at least two spots and stuck out halfway in the parking lot.

Our roof project is finished. Part of our project was a rear gutter Fascia board repair. SMART USES LLC Gutters Guys (out of Haverhill MA) arrived this morning to solve our gutter problem. They managed to work around our trellis using ladders which was a big plus (no lift needed). Thanks to Isaiah, Frank and Shorty; we are in gutter heaven!! They are friendly, professional and left our deck and yard clean!! We recommend their quality work! Anne & Bucky in Carlisle.

hired to install gutters and guards they’re literally separating in places. I almost got hit in the heat by a large piece of ice and this guy doesn’t respond to calls or texts. very disappointing. we spent a lot of money and will now need to pay someone else to redo the entire job. don’t waste your time or money

I had hired a long standing gutter installer from the area to replace working but older gutters on my home. the installation was not performed correctly, I began to have flooding in my lower level during moderate rains. I called the installer and they blamed the roof, the house, me and finally called Smart Uses LLC. They came out right away and without my explaining they told me what they saw as the problem, gave me and estimate showed up on time and completed the mistakes the seasoned company made. Since all the recent summer rains I have functional gutters and a dry lower level of my home. Life is how it should be. thanks to knowledgeable teams.
