Soby One Home Services is a Cape Cod electrician based in South Dennis, working across Barnstable County on everything from panel upgrades to smart-home and generator installs. The company says it's family-owned and owner-operated by Michael Soby, a licensed Master Electrician who grew up in a construction family; its Massachusetts electrician license (A20378) is registry-verified and active. What keeps coming up across its Google reviews, spanning 2021 through 2025, is speed and follow-through. In a 2021 review, a homeowner who called eight local electricians said Soby One was the only one to return the call, with Michael at the house within hours. A 2022 review describes a 12-hour power outage where Soby's team traced a faulty breaker and had power restored within two hours after other services couldn't help. Another 2022 review, from a customer of over a decade, says Michael still remembers old customers and prioritizes real emergencies over the schedule. The written record includes real project detail beyond routine service calls. A 2024 review describes a whole-house service line upgrade, a new 200-amp panel, hot tub wiring, and outdoor GFI additions; a 2023 review describes a full service line and panel replacement completed with rigid conduit and a Lutron lighting panel; another 2023 review of a panel upgrade in Brewster credits the crew with an accurate, detailed quote followed exactly. A 2021 review describes a warranty callback on malfunctioning smoke detectors, with a follow-up call from Michael the next day to confirm everything was working. Not every account is positive: a 2025 review reports a missed estimate appointment with no call to reschedule or explain — worth asking about before booking a first visit, since the rest of the record is built on responsiveness. By its own account, the company also installs and services air conditioning and ductless mini-splits, and holds Panasonic Gold-level HVAC and Nest Pro installer certifications. It's a fit for a Cape Cod homeowner with an electrical project that needs a real, in-writing quote and a crew that shows up — confirm current availability and get that quote in writing before scheduling.
Mike - you and I have worked on everything from a total service change and up grade to things as small as changing out a simple wall socket. This call today was to replace an exhaust fan time control switch that had failed in the master bathroom. Perfect job brother !!!! Thank you
I made an appointment for an estimate for some electrical work and Michael did not show up or even bother to call.
Michael Soby and his team have been the best electricians that I have worked with. They have helped me with the whole house service line upgrade, installation of a new 200 amps panel, wiring of our hot tub, erecting and wiring new granite post light, adding/replacing outdoor GFIs. They were diligent and they were thoughtful in the way that they designed their work. They were detailed oriented. Their work results were impressive! Michael is also responsive to answering questions. I can sleep sound at night knowing our house’s electric work was done in a high quality fashion.
Mike was so nice to work with he and his crew did impeccable work . He was readily available to answer any questions which was very reassuring . Mike was here for the inspection which went smoothly. It’s nice to feel prepared for whatever nature may bring. Thanks
Let me start by saying, out of the many electricians I called, Soby One called me back promptly .I'm a master woodworker and member of IATSE Local 52 Film and Stage Mechanics in NYC and P-town bread..... where locally, no one called us back with our emergency of flickering lights. Michael and his team put their money where their mouth was and did an outstanding job removing our old tattered service line and panel with a new line complete with rigid conduit, Azek mounting panel and exquisite Lutron Panel. Their work was detailed and clean . They went above and beyond, (craftmanship all the way)! Additionally, Michael took the time to request a new line drop from Eversource. Because his work was so clean, I now have to remove all the old telephone , cable and tv wires that are cluttering the new sense of order that is no longer making our house look like the Munster's or Adams Family. We no longer live in electrical shame and fright.
