Southeast Railing Co Inc, doing business as Southeast Railing & Iron Works, is a Canton ironworks shop that says it was started by the DeVoe family — the company's own site puts the founding year at 1976, while BBB's profile lists 1973. Either way, the company describes itself as family-owned and says it has served the local community for five decades, with Robert DeVoe listed as president. The written record, while short — 7 reviews from 2022 through 2025 across four sources, all five stars — points to one consistent story: custom railings, made to fit. Reviewers describe the process the same way each time — a measurement visit, railings fabricated to the home's exact dimensions, then a careful install. One customer's mason recommended the company for new front-step railings; another had four sturdy iron railings installed for elderly grandparents after a fall down the stairs, writing that the work let them "come and go from their own house safely again." Paul Quinn, in particular, is named repeatedly for walking customers through material and finish options — including a maintenance-free galvanized finish — and finishing projects quickly. One customer even had the company travel to a vacation home on Cape Cod for the same work. BBB lists the company as A+ rated and accredited since 2018, and its stated service list runs beyond railings to fire escapes, window grills, spiral stairs, gates, guardrails, and handicap ramps — all custom fabricated and installed. For a custom stair or deck railing, this is a small, name-recognized shop where the same person tends to see a job through from measurement to finish.
