Southern Connecticut Ice and Oil sells ice as well as oil, and a 2024 customer called it a local company delivering oil, thanked Kevin, McRae and the rest of the team, and praised the service and its value. The company says it has been in business for 82 years, and its Better Business Bureau grade is A+. A 2025 customer wrote that the owner, whose name they thought was Caven, spoke badly to customers, and said they would not do business there again. A recent customer who came to buy large packs of ice said that, as their fiancée walked toward the man helping them, another man came out and grabbed the fiancée to redirect him, which the customer called unnecessary.
The Hispanic people that work there are super nice and helpful so this is not for them in any way. We went to buy the large packs of ice. A gentleman came to help us and we let him know what we wanted. We waited by the office window but we then got signaled to follow the man helping us. As my fiancée was walking towards the man who signaled us to come to him another male came out and told him to no not to come this way and grabbed my fiancée to redirect him. Which in my opinion was unnecessary there was no need to put hands on him. He could’ve redirected us nicely and in a more respectful manner since it was our first time going there. Anyways maybe work on not touching people and maybe telling the team that works there to better direct the clients.
The owner I think his name is Caven way of talk to customer is bad. He realy disappointed me. I newer do business again such this behavior
