Square Services is the outfit homeowners in the Merrimack Valley seem to call when a house needs several unrelated things fixed at once. Scroll its reviews and one job blends into the next: a bathroom gutted and rebuilt, a laundry room reconstructed after water damage, a basement refinished, cabinets installed and painted, hardwood refinished, a deck built and later restained, siding patched on an older home. Customers name the same people over and over — Yaritza in the office, Carlos and Wandel on site — which is usually the sign of a small crew rather than a rotating cast of subs. The ratings hold up across platforms: 4.8 from 19 Google ratings, 4.8 from 27 on HomeAdvisor, and the history runs back to 2020 across five sources. The praise is consistent about process rather than flourish — showing up when promised, checking in during the day, cleaning up afterward, and proposals that matched the final bill. Several reviewers describe hiring them repeatedly across years and passing them to neighbours. Not every account is glowing, and the sharpest one is worth reading before you sign. A homeowner describes work needing correction — grout in mismatched colors with pieces missing, unfinished caulking — plus a toilet installed by a subcontractor that leaked, and a company that then stopped answering calls about the damage. Another reviewer who was broadly satisfied still advised being explicit about what you want up front, noting the crew fixed things when told. Read together, those two point the same direction: this is a company that does good work when the scope is nailed down, and one whose weak spot is what happens when something goes wrong. The supporting records are also a muddle. HomeAdvisor's page sits at a Lawrence address and its reviews are almost entirely about power washing, roof and window cleaning from 2020 — an earlier chapter of the business. Its BBB file was only opened in March 2026 and carries no rating at all, which sits oddly against the 7 to 9 years of experience its own directory profiles claim. Worth a quote if you have a list of interior and exterior jobs and want one crew for all of it. Get the scope, the grout and finish specs, and the subcontractor arrangements written into the contract, and ask directly how damage claims are handled.

Square Services recently renovated our bathroom and I could not be happier with the result! Throughout the process the employees were friendly, professional, and helpful when we asked for advice. Communication was EXCELLENT and the Square Services employees always showed up at the agreed upon days and times. I was very impressed with the craftsmanship and attention to detail that was taken in the construction of our renovated bathroom. I highly recommend this company for your renovation needs and I personally look forward to working with them in the future!

Square Services was great! They always showed up on time and stayed late to get the work done correctly and professionally. They came as a referral from my neighbor. I have recommended them to several friends and now they are passing on more work to Square Services. They crew is super nice and very respectful and responsive. Each morning and several times throughout the day the manager or owner would stop by to check on the progress and update us on what has been done and what they were doing next. I really appreciated the updates. I plan to use Square Services again for other home improvements in the near future.

This company was a nightmare to work with. They did many things incorrectly, but most astonishing is that they hired a subcontractor to install a toilet and that toilet was found to be leaking. They refused to cover damages and refused to answer calls, even though they are legally responsible. Totally unprofessional. The floor that they installed already has missing pieces of grout. They also installed with different colors of grout, so it does not look professional. They caulked part of the frame around a door, but did not finish so it looks sloppy. I liked them initially, but now I say “stay away!” I had a terrible experience.

We have worked with Square Services on two different projects. The first was a laundry room rebuild and extensive kitchen repair from water damage. Most recently Carlos and team installed a new deck and updated several other items outside needing attention. The work was excellent and the team very professional. They take great care and pride in their work and did a great job on clean up after it was completed. We have been very impressed with their professionalism and efficiency in which they completed the work. They took time to understand our needs and provided options as well as an honest assessment of work they felt could be pushed to a later date. They have become a trusted partner for us and our home repair and upgrade needs.
