St. Joseph HVAC is an Acton shop built around heat pumps — ductless systems, dual-fuel hybrids, furnace upgrades, AC repair, duct work and commercial jobs across Greater Boston. Its Angi and HomeAdvisor profiles list a Mass Save partnership, five years of experience, emergency service, free estimates and warranties, and both show 4.3 stars from the same six reviews. The newest of those six is the one to ask about. In April 2026 a customer rated a $27,000 commercial heat pump job one star: after a year the system had leaked out all of its refrigerant, and the customer said they called multiple times to get someone back out and were avoided. The other five come from a cluster in April 2023 and tell a different story. A repeat client that month wrote that they had worked with Daniel and his team on several projects, describing him as client-focused and respectful of the home; a project manager who has worked with several contractors praised the quality of the work and the professionalism; two more that month described quick responses, one on a small issue after the job. That distance — five satisfied customers in spring 2023, one in 2026 who could not get a callback — is the thing to settle before you sign. Ask in writing what the installation warranty covers if refrigerant is lost, who holds the manufacturer's labor coverage, and how a service call gets scheduled once the system is running. For a residential heat pump or AC install with those terms pinned down, they are worth a quote. For a large commercial system, put the service response in the contract before work starts.
