The company's Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration is active, and Better Business Bureau has accredited it since 2006, with an A+ grade and no complaints on file. The written record behind that reputation runs back to 2015: reviews describe complete gut renovations of two-family homes, kitchen and bathroom rebuilds, a front stairway-and-deck project finished on budget in a single day, and an addition to a Somerville apartment — most naming Robert Leal and Debby directly and crediting them for staying communicative and on schedule through the work. Earlier reviews describe a similar pattern: one 2016 homeowner recalled being told clearly which materials — tile, grout, fixtures — they'd need to supply themselves, with the timeline updated as each trade came through. A May 2026 Thumbtack review, the most recent on file, describes the same pattern on a bathroom renovation and front-stairs rebuild. Not every account lines up. A 2023 Houzz review describes a rushed job with poor communication, no assigned project manager, a missed meeting scheduled months out, and contract steps skipped without sign-off on the changes — a sharp contrast to the Rob-and-Debby-led praise elsewhere. It's the one dissenting account in an otherwise decade-long track record, but worth asking about directly: who's the assigned project manager, and how are change orders approved. Sources disagree on how long the company has been around — its own site says 2001, BBB says 2000, and Thumbtack's own blurb alternates between 2002 and "over 30 years" — but all agree this is a long-running outfit, not a newcomer. Anyone lining up a full renovation should confirm the project-manager assignment and get change-order approvals in writing before work starts.
