We love Steeplechase. We had them come back this past year (3/2018 and 9/2018) to remodel our family upstairs bathroom and our master bathroom. Eric (Project Manager) is amazing to work with, he remembered my quirks, and was proactive about making sure everything was even, level, plumb, smooth, waterproof, clean, etc. The subs they bring in are incredibly reliable, which I know is rare, and their work is impecable. I don't know how they do it, but I am thankful that Steeplechase has such high standards for all their employees. We 100% trusted Eric/Steeplechase to implement our 'vision', and he/they did, to my almost impossible standards, they not only succeeded, but surpassed my expectations. Just to reiterate, We love Steeplechase.
We hired Steeplechase to replace the Hardie Fiber Cement Siding on our home. We had had this product on our home, installed by a previous contractor, and it had failed because of incorrect installation. Based on what we had heard about the Hardie product, we decided to give it another try, but with a contractor with a proven record of working with Hardie material. We hired Steeplechase after seeing the Hardie siding they installed on a neighbor's house. Steeplechase did a beautiful job on our home, not only meeting, but exceeding the installation guidelines. They were meticulous about making it look perfect. A year later, it still looks like the day it was finished. We especially appreciate the way the Steeplechase contractor took extra time to evaluate our situation, discuss options and work to help us meet our budget. They are great to work with, and we plan to use them for all of our future projects.
We have a modest home, but our kitchen living room renovation was HUGE. We gutted, re-designed and replaced the entire kitchen, raised the major support beam to hide it in the attic, replaced our front door, installed and refinished all the hard wood, upgraded our electric panel and installed new lighting. We were very nervous, but Steeplechase was outstanding. During the bid process it was clear that they listen to our needs. They came right on budget and, also, right on time! We had house guests planned for a particular weekend and really wanted to be finished. Steeplechase did not disappoint us. Eric, our project manager, was responsive and the entire team was very respectful of our home, our lives and even our 14 year old dog.
Moving from the west coast to the East Coast into a new home with the family can be challenging, but the guys at Steeplechase have been great at understanding our needs and dealing with long distance communication. We had to do lots of fixes on the house exterior, including painting and everything happen in time, as budgeted.
We suffered ice dam damage for the first time Feb 2015. The damage was extensive. We called Steeplechase because my husband is a colleague of the owners brother. Jay's (owner of Steeplechase) brother thought very highly of his work ethic and is very impressed with his company. He runs a tight ship and his passion for perfection comes through in every project big or small. How can we not call and schedule an appointment? Jay (owner) and Eric (PM) came armed with a pen, notebook, and tape measure. We walked through with Jay (who is OBSESSIVE about cleanliness and requires industrial air filters to be in the house while demolition is going on as well as taping off the area and thorough, not just broom swept, clean up every night. The filter runs day and night) and Eric who took notes. Right away you see how well they work together, they finished each other's sentences and went back and forth with the best way to solve a problem. The entire house was affected one way or another, some rooms were in worse shape than others. We also wanted to remodel our downstairs half bath as part of the project. They emailed us the contract in a timely manner, and their fees were very reasonable. Our insurance quote and their quote were almost identical, which made us very happy in that insurance covered only a little over half of the quote. From that point on we worked with Eric (PM) till completion. Eric is a pleasure to work with, I am NOT a easy person to please. I too am armed with a tape measure and a level. My husband and I warned him about my perfectionist tendencies. He was part PM, part therapist. He was always good natured, professional, and quick to offer solutions to unexpected problems that came up during the project. He clearly has a great relationship with his contractors who respect and value his opinion. All the contractors that came to the house were professionals, talented, and conscientious about the timeframe allocated for their part of the project. Eric checked in via text/phone/email/came by in person at least once a day with us. He told us who to expect the next day, when (time), and what they would be doing. His communication with us was fantastic. I have only worked with 1 other contractor that came when they said they would, do what they said they would do, and charge us what they said they would charge us. Steeplechase and Eric were a pleasure to work with. Our experience with them has been a really really positive one, we cannot recommend them highly enough. 5 stars is really not a good enough rating for them. The quality of their work is evident, my half bath is exactly as I had pictured it, the rest of the house has returned to its original state yet better. We will use them again and again for all our home improvement needs.
