Stewart Electrical Contracting is Frank Stewart's Lawrence, MA electrical company, incorporated in 2012 and now running two locations (Lawrence and North Andover) with about 8 employees. Its Massachusetts electrician license (#4299) is active and state-verified, and the company has held a BBB A+ rating since becoming accredited in 2017. The written record is short but detailed. In a late-2024 review, a customer described an elevator vent project where the team met the quoted timeframe and stayed in touch throughout — calling them professional, reliable and knowledgeable. Around the same time, a building owner who said they'd worked with several contractors over the years called Stewart Electric best in class, praising Frank's team as proactive, responsive communicators doing thorough, quality work. One 2024 review is about something else entirely: when a traveler's car broke down in Stewart's parking lot after hours, staff members Kara and Joe opened the office, let them use the bathroom, and helped arrange a tow — even offering a ride 30 minutes out of their way. It's not about the electrical work, but it's the kind of detail that says something about who runs the place. Beyond typical residential and commercial electrical work, the company lists a wide range on its BBB profile — elevator modernization, EV charging stations, fire alarm systems, home generators, HVAC service, aerial/bucket-truck work, and security cameras — reflecting a shop set up to handle both routine home jobs and larger commercial and utility-scale projects. For anything from a generator install to a bigger commercial job, this is a licensed, established operation with a small but genuinely positive written record.
Stewart Electrical Contracting is absolutely amazing. I worked with them on an elevator vent project recently and not only were they extremely professional, but they were unbelievably reliable and knowledgeable. As per the contract they met the quoted timeframe and kept me informed throughout the entire job. Kudos to Colby and his team. Looking forward to working them again.
The staff at Stewart Electrical are fantastic, especially Kara and Joe! Our car had a huge mechanical problem and we were lucky enough for it to conk out in their parking lot. Kara and Joe graciously opened up their doors (eventhough the business was closed) and let us relax, use the bathroom and have a drink. They offered helpful guidance (we were 8 hours away from our home) and helped us get our car towed. Joe even offered to drop us off at Exeter (30 minutes out of his way). They are so kind and I’m grateful for all their help.
As a building owner having worked with several contractors and different companies over the year, I can honestly say Stewart Electric is BEST IN CLASS! Frank and his team are proactive, great communicators, and extremely responsive. There work is thurough, thoughtful, and top quality. They are true trusted business partners.
