A stained carpet that could not be cleaned, patched until it looks as good as new: that is what a recent Google customer wrote about Steve Holick of Strictly Carpet Repairs. The company describes itself on its website as a family business of over 40 years and says Steve Holick learned the trade from his father, George. Its stated service area runs through Newtown, Southbury, Woodbury, Monroe, Danbury, Bethel and seven other towns, and its Better Business Bureau profile describes carpet services for homes and businesses: re-stretching, patching, re-seaming, re-padding, and pulling up and installing carpet. A 2023 customer said the original installers had left wrinkles the household lived with for years, and that Steve and Kat restretched the living-room carpet at a price the customer called very reasonable. In 2024, a customer with a dot-style carpet wrote that Steve explained why he was doing what he was doing at every step, and that they cleaned up with their own equipment at the end. On Google the business holds 4.7 stars from 14 ratings, and its Better Business Bureau grade is A+. A 2022 customer said the original installer never called back, while Steve came when he said he would and repaired two areas within 45 minutes. I post reviews when I believe someone is a master in their trade. Steve Holick is one of them. He did an exceptional job patching a stained carpet at our house which could not be cleaned. He was a pleasure to speak with, professional, on time, and clearly knew exactly what he was doing. The carpet looks as good as new. For all things carpet related, Steve is now in my contact list as the only person I would call and refer for the job.
Friendly, professional, reasonably priced, and very good and what they do.
Steve and his wife Kat did an outstanding job restretching the carpet in two of our living rooms. They were punctual, professional, and went above and beyond by helping move furniture. Throughout the process, they explained what they were doing and worked strategically to ensure a flawless result. One thing I truly appreciated was Steve’s guarantee that the wrinkles will never return—talk about confidence in their work! They even managed to move our pool table without disassembling it, which was impressive. At the end of the job, they carefully placed all the furniture back exactly where I approved, making sure I was 100% satisfied before leaving. They were both a pleasure to talk to, and I would absolutely recommend them to anyone in need of carpet restretching. Excellent service from start to finish!
Steve and Cathy did a great job for us. They were very professional and knowledgeable. They were also very punctual, friendly and informative. I highly recommend.
Our cats damaged in several areas of our carpets and Steve and Kat did a wonderful job patching and repairing the carpets. You can't even see the repair! They also installed padding under half of a rug that had been removed due to water damange and the carpet looks smooth once again. They were a pleasure to meet and I highly recommend them.
