Five separate reviews between 2022 and 2025 describe the exact same breakdown at Suburban HVAC: a technician comes out, a quote gets promised, and then weeks pass with calls, texts and emails going nowhere. That's the clearest thread running through an otherwise deep and largely strong record for this Westwood HVAC company, which holds an active Massachusetts HVAC license and is a Massachusetts-certified Women Business Enterprise. The volume behind the good side is real — 143 reviews from 2021 through this year across six platforms, with the last six months bringing 7 reviews and none of them negative. What customers describe once past the quote stage is consistently specific: in an April 2026 review, a technician traced a furnace's years-long intermittent short-cycling — usually chalked up to a dirty flame sensor — to an actual gas pressure problem underneath it. A 2024 review described two technicians managing a full system replacement through a four-story chiller drop in a Boston brownstone. Multiple reviews, including one from January 2026, credit the company with handling Mass Save rebate and loan paperwork on the customer's behalf. Two patterns worth knowing about show up repeatedly, though. The quote-goes-missing problem recurs in 2022, 2023, 2024 and twice in 2025 — different customers, same complaint, spanning four years. Separately, a handful of reviews and an Exa-sourced mention describe reluctance to send a technician back once a job was done: a 2021 review called the after-sale response 'lip service,' a late-2025 review said the company wouldn't stand behind an installed product, and a mention on Apple Maps described a refused request to recheck a $300 diagnosis that hadn't fixed the problem. For anyone who gets a quote and a scheduled job, the technical work holds up well and the Mass Save help is a real plus. The two things worth pinning down before signing: get a firm date for the written quote, and ask directly what the callback process looks like if something needs a second look.
“Suburban HVAC did my house for 19,500 4 mini split heat pump. Did great job 3 weeks ago and get 10k rebate plus got 0% loan”
“We recently had Suburban replace an existing aged Carrier A/C system. The process of evaluating options was clear and informative.”
“DO NOT USE - $300 to diagnose my heat system that kept shutting off. Told there was nothing wrong. Problem continued. Asked them to send another tech to recheck. They refused to send a new tech”
I worked with Bobby Rinn. on my mini splits. He was great, just a texted away if I needed something. He came in with a great quote- much less then others. We set up a date and Mike was there on time and worked meticulously getting things just right. Highly recommend Suburban HVAC.
I had a Ductless Carrier Wall Unit replaced in my attic. Bobby came out to look at it and was great to work with. He understood the assignment and provided options that would work for our space. He was very knowledgeable and was able to get our installation set up quickly. The installation team was so kind, removed the old wall unit and outdoor unit, was very clean, wore shoe covers in our home, and finished the job on time without issue. I would highly recommend Suburban!
Got 3 mini splits installed by Suburban. They got the job done at a reasonable price. The customer service was not great. Had to email them multiple times to get a quote and other information along the way. They also installed a pipe that looks weird on the side of our house (it's wrapped over our gutter, perpendicular to it). I wish they had run that by us before installing. Overall a good experience.
we have suburban spirit at my house!
I had a great experience with Suburban HVAC. Tyler MacQueen did an amazing job solving a problem that others couldn’t figure out. He was professional, knowledgeable, and persistent until the issue was resolved. I really appreciate his expertise and the quality of service provided. Highly recommend Suburban HVAC, especially Tyler, for anyone looking for reliable HVAC service.
