A recent customer whose basement oil tank was leaking says they called at 6:30 AM, Rosemary called back almost immediately, and John and John Jr. replaced the tank in less than 24 hours, pumping out the old tank and transferring the oil into the new one. A recent customer recommending Suburban Oil Company of Northford, CT says the team removed an old oil tank from a hard-to-reach spot in the basement and installed a new Roth oil tank with a new fuel line, including a Tiger Loop, in a new location. Its website lists North Branford, Branford, Hamden, North Haven and Wallingford as its service area. Much of the work is heating and cooling equipment. A recent customer says that when their central AC could not be fixed because of a coolant leak, the company came the same day to check and installed a new system by 12:30 the next day. A recent customer had mini splits put in and says John and his crew worked all day, some of it in the rain. A recent customer had a boiler replaced and says the basement was left cleaner than they found it. A 2026 customer said the furnace broke down in the middle of the night and a new one was installed the next day. A 2025 customer said Suburban replaced a Hydro-air R22 air handler and condenser and explained how the original had not been installed properly. A 2023 customer said the work included rebuilding the fire box and re-plumbing the heating loops. Billing is where things went wrong. A 2026 customer said their elderly mother, on automatic fill, ran out of oil and was then charged a run-out fee because someone had canceled automatic delivery, though the office had no documentation of who canceled. A 2024 customer whose furnace shut off overnight objected to the parts markup on the repair bill and to how Rosemary at the office responded when asked about it, while calling the oil delivery side great. A 2025 customer said a driver filled the tank without a request and they were billed a surprise high bill. A 2024 customer said the company stopped allowing weekly payments on a balance and required payment on the spot. A 2022 customer said the company did not honor a service contract.
